Joe’s genius idea and a very romantic dinner

Saturday started with a chill morning just hanging out with my family! Around 10 or so I decided it was the perfect weather to start my long run. I ended up doing 10 miles in 7:40 pace and got some hills in too. Joe rode the bike along side of me which equals a great run no matter what.

Afterwards I stretched (is it sad I can’t even touch my toes anymore?) and Joe and I decided every day we are going to do pushups and abs together. I thought it would be a good idea to have a contest to see who could do more pushups and boy am I glad Joe is a genius and thought that was a terrible thing to do our first time. I only did 20 and my arms felt like they were ready to fall off 7 hours later. I’m sure you’re wondering if I will have enough strength to make cake batter puppy chow and brookies today for our Super Bowl party. Never mind, you know me better than to wonder something that ridiculous.

Refueling after the long run was delicious. I have really been enjoying smoothies in the morning. This one had a frozen banana, strawberries, blueberries, coconut yogurt, milk, and ice. Usually I also add a handful of spinach and chocolate protein powder at home.

We ended up leaving around 1 and headed to get our Super Bowl party supplies to make some delicious snacks. Day 2 of the 14 day challenge was a romantic sunset dinner outside with paninis, french fries I covered in parmesan and seasoning salt, and brussels sprouts. We were only slightly interrupted by the off and on screaming child in the high chair next to us.

He had a little too much fun and not enough sleep at Grandma and Grandpa’s so he went to bed early and Joe and I watched The 5 Year Engagement and 50 First Dates while eating cake balls. Anyone ever seen it?

You guys are adorable. Running alongside his bike is the cutest idea ever! It would certainly make any run go by faster. Followed by smoothies and french fries makes any run great. And a night of chick flicks and cake balls. We’re totally on the same wavelength. I don’t think I’m even going to watch the superbowl… does that make me a bad person? Haha

I really dont care who wins lol…I go for the food and commercials. Plus today is national carrot cake day woo hoo- my favorite dessert, lets all eat some!

Wow, you’re speedy! I ran yesterday too, but I was sore from the day before and it was windy, so I ended up running about a 9:45 mile. Not the pace I want to run at all in my race in three weeks… I’ve seen 50 first dates, but not the 5 year engagement. I think 50 first dates is super cute!!

I don’t really have any true plans for the Super Bowl.. I’m definitely watching the Puppy Bowl this afternoon (so much cuteness, starts at 3/2c on Animal planet if you’ve never seen it!) I don’t really care who wins, but I have a lot of friends who are Ravens fans, so I’m guessing I’m leaning towards that. I def wanna see Beyonce perform!!

I’m not sure which I’m more envious of… how speedy of a runner you are, or how gorgeous your weather is. Probably both :P Happy Sunday, girlie! I don’t care much for football, so it doesn’t really matter to me who wins, but I’ll be headed over to my parents’ later to watch the game, and hopefully some good food will be involved!

By golly, I do believe you look a little bit tan in that picture! Also you need to ‘fess up- joe was biking along with your run, not you running alongside his biking. I did hear him groan when you suggested it!

I love when my husband bikes with me on my runs! I tried to get him to do core/yoga/anything with me everyday but he quit! I guess I was too good for him :)

I so totally don’t care about the super bowl, which means I’m sitting at home all by myself and loving every second of it! Also, I’m pleased to hear that someone isn’t flexible either – stretching is always last on my priority list. It probably shouldn’t be, but I can never get in the habit!
