Intense relationships

Look what finally came in!

Joe got me these as a birthday present and I am happy to say I will give them a great home. I’m pretty sure they are unaware of the deep intimacy we will share over the next few months.

Yesterday was a wonderful day! We started off with a trip to the galleria to see this jolly, bearded man. As you can see, Noah still wasn’t sure about him. One person who can be sure of him though is Mrs. Claus. My single aunt asked him for a husband for Christmas and his reply was, “Sorry, I’m taken.”

Next up was a date night at a place we had never tried called Eddie V’s. We were both pretty hungry so Joe started off with the seafood tower which consisted of crab, lobster, shrimp, and oysters and I got a hot goat cheese and wild mushroom salad. Stop gagging it was amazing.

The waiter was shocked we were still ordering food after this but we continued right on with a New York Strip, filet, and sides of brocolini, brussel sprouts, spinach, and mac and cheese!

Even though we were quite full at this point, I had already ordered this Godiva chocolate cake.

Sadly, it went largely uneaten due to what happened next. Now, I would like you all to pause for a moment of silence. I am unsure if I should even write this next part just because of the immense emotional and spiritual commitment it requires on my part. I think this might have been the best dessert I have ever had. Ever. Like, I will be going back here for every birthday dessert or even on a weekly basis.

After the fire stops burning, you are left with the most moist, warm vanilla cake covered in rich caramel and a hint of banana flavor. It doesn’t sound like much but wow, coming from me this is a big deal. I told the waiter if it was socially acceptable I would have licked that plate clean. He said, “If you do, I didn’t see anything.” Extra tip for you!

Have a great Sunday and good luck to my awesome Uncle Jody running the College Station marathon this morning!

Any other goat cheese lovers out there? What is your absolute favorite dessert of all times?
