Be happy I’m not your neighbor

by Elizabeth on December 7, 2012

Let’s start with the most pressing issue this morning. I made a really awesome dessert last night. You know those times you’re really wanting something sweet but you don’t have anything on hand and don’t feel like baking? I know, it rarely happens to me either. Well rest at ease my friends. All you have to do is take a cake or brownie mix, add water and stir it until it looks like normal batter, stick that baby in the microwave, and stand by watching it (not too closely or if you are close hold your breath, I read something once about microwaves causing cancer) until it looks ready!

Please don’t be confused by the different socioeconomic backgrounds of Mrs. Fields and Ghirardelli. I went grocery shopping in my mom’s pantry this weekend and found some elite brownies. Mrs. Fields is from Big Lots where I normally shop.

And there you have it. My Neon Running Shoes’ first recipe! Be on the lookout for a MNRS cookbook coming soon. I’m sure the fan mail will continue to pile in after that. I kid, I haven’t gotten any emails.

Since you now know how domestic I truly am, I need a favor. I got all of my Christmas decorations up, tree included, before realizing I was missing my box of Christmas tree ornaments. Somehow it wasn’t with all of the other Christmas decor. If anyone has seen said box, please be so kind as to notify me.

The other day I was outside talking to my neighbors and one commented how me and the guy next door to me hadn’t put up anything outside. He said it just wasn’t his thing and I am clearly having issues getting my decorating done this year. Well wouldn’t you know it this morning I’m leaving for my run and I see he has put up bows and a wreath! He happened to be backing out of his driveway so I pointed at the bows and shook my head. We were supposed to decorationless together and he broke our pact. He drove away laughing at me. When I got back from my run I decided to take down his bows and put them on my house instead. I took a picture but for safety reasons I won’t post it. Who’s laughing now, neighbor?

We went for Noah’s one year check up yesterday and wild child is in the 50% for height and weight. Joe really wants him to be in the NBA one day since his number one love in life is basketball (it’s fine… I’ve accepted it and moved on.) Sorry Joe, with those stats it’s not looking promising. If he does though, maybe he’ll start a website called My Neon Basketball Shoes?

A mom can dream.

Do cookbooks get royalties? If so, I will be retiring sooner than you think because that brownie mix belonged to me! PS- go was your floors or dust something!

FYI mother I have washed my floors TWICE this week.

I don’t dust.

I so would buy your cook book! That’s my kind of recipe! I think Brookies definitely deserve a spot in your cook book too! :-)

You have officially provided me with all the comic relief I needed for like the past month :) oh and that recipe? Perfect for lazy poor college students obsessed with sugar like myself! Oh and I thought we had already decided that Noah was gunna be a pro tennis player? He has the spongebob racket and everything!
