22 Weeks: Why not feel good?

by Elizabeth on January 23, 2014

Baby Sauvageau: 22 Weeks! Almost 23 :-)

Baby?s size? Papaya.

Maternity clothes? Yes! Still loving the Gap maternity tops (so much that I’ve worn them every day since they came in?)

Stretch marks? No, I use Bio Oil and regular lotion but who knows if it really does anything. All I know is when I don’t use anything for a day my skin gets super itchy so I plan on sticking with it!

Sleep: Pretty terrible honestly but I still can’t complain since I can always nap when Noah does if I really need to! Falling asleep and staying comfortable is my problem! Who would have thought with this whole growing another human thing going on ;-)

Best moment this week: It’s so hard for me to choose? Park dates or morning runs with friends are always high on the list and Noah has a blast at the park!

Yoga is awesome (body pump is on hold since my back has been hurting a bit.) Joe has been busy and working late at nights so having him home last night for the first time in a while was incredible! I make him massage my aching back for at least 30 minutes haha. Being able to watch this sweet little baby bump grow isn’t too bad either.  Photo from instagram. Pardon my no makeup, post running hair, and Elmo bubble bath.

Miss anything? My husband! I’m so glad he gets every other Friday off and his work should be slowing down now. I also miss not worrying so much about doing anything and everything not to hurt my back.

Movement: Yes and loving it. I’m debating showing you a video. Is that too much haha? :-)

Food Cravings: I’ve definitely had a great week eating nutritiously. Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, apples, giant salads with lots of raw vegetables, chicken, goat cheese, and pumpkin seeds, nut butters, and the trail mix and energy balls I made last week have been my staples. And weirdly enough I have a lot more energy it feels like!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: Girl!!!

Labor Signs: None!

Symptoms: Lower back pain! Some days it’s really bad but I remind myself that it’s a huge blessing to be pregnant that some people never get. It’s MORE than worth whatever discomfort that comes along too.

Belly Button ? in or out?  In, and getting flatter haha!

Wedding Rings ? on or off? On!

Happy or Moody? Overall happy!

Looking Forward To: Nothing in particular! Just enjoying each moment for what it is.

I feel like this week I took a lot of time to really pamper and take care of myself in small ways (lotion, painting my nails, hanging out at Sephora, bubble baths, eating nutritiously, and not feeling guilty for making my husband rub my back?) It makes a huge difference in the way I feel so I plan on keeping that as a priority :-) Why not, right?

I vote yes to the baby moving video!! :)
Something delicious I ate yesterday – strawberry slices. They were good! Hmmm can’t think of something new I’ve tried. Guess that means I need to start mixing up my life a little bit! I’m getting boring ;)

I have tried this new lotion, the fragrance is grapefruit and every time I put it on I want a grapefruit!

I use bio oil and thyme maternity stretch mark lotion. So far so good, but I’m now3 days overdue so I’m hoping my last minute popping doesn’t cause any!

Yesterday I had some fudge and it was incredible! It definitely hit the spot :) The best new thing that I tried has probably been the new nail polish that my husband gave me. It is Loreal and it looks amazing on :)

Awesome job with your healthy eats! I could afford to be a little cleaner with mine :/ Totally feel ya with the back pain! Ugh! Actually I’ve been doing some research on abdominal separation during/after pregnancy (more for precaution sake, don’t have any issues with it as of now) and read that lack of core support is a main reason for back pain during pregnancy! (Actually wrote about this in my 24 week update post, which should go up tomorrow I hope!) So I’ve been trying to make sure I’m keeping my core tight (or as tight as I can with this belly.. ha!) and it seems to be helping with my back already! In case that’s helpful for you at all! :)
