Scenes from the weekend.

by Elizabeth on December 9, 2013

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope your weekend was filled with fun, relaxation, and possibly some Christmas-y festivities?
Friday afternoon our family packed up and headed to the hill country to accompany Joe on a hunting trip with my dad and uncle. Despite it being colder than it has for a while we had an awesome time! We got back late last night so this post is going to be picture heavy rather than word heavy :-)
The sunsets out there are incredible.

The town we stayed at was tiny, so the only park was a school playground. Noah and I spent a considerable amount of time here both days while the boys hunted! He didn’t care about the cold at all….

The newest member of our family:

I chose not to get up early and run but was actually able to get a good 30 minute circuit workout while Noah played! Lunges, squats, bench step ups, push ups, and chasing Noah lead to a sore mommy this morning!

Eggnog + McDonalds double cheeseburgers are what pregnant ladies’ dreams are made of.

True Texan right here!

Have a great day!
Fill me in on your weekend!
Eggnog: love or hate?

The sunset is beautiful! I can take or leave egg nog but definitely have a glass or two each holiday season. My weekend was low-key as my husband was really sick with the flu/cold. I kept myself entertained my baking cookies, some errands, a few workouts, wrapping presents, and taking care of him (I think he watched 6 movies this weekend, haha). It was nice to lay low, but I’m praying I stay healthy as I have finals, graduation, and his military ball this week & we head back to Chicago for 2 weeks next week!

Beautiful sunset! Sounds like a really fun weekend! I had a 5k on Saturday and spent the rest of the day baking and cooking. Sunday was spent doing a long run and then watching the finale of The Amazing Race! I am NOT an egg-nog person at all!

Wow – that photo of the sunset is incredible!

I’m not a huge eggnog fan. Maybe I’ll try it again this year because deep down I kind of WANT to like it. :)

The sunset is beautiful! That’s fantastic that you got in a circuit workout while Noah played. I am sure that chasing him around is a workout in itself!

I am not a huge fan of egg nog, but if you add a little extra holiday cheer ***obviously not if you’re preggers ;-) *** and whipped cream to it…I’m in!

I love eggnog! Yum!

That sunset is gorgeous. Sounds like a beautiful place that you visited. I love small towns.

I had a Jingle 5K yesterday that I missed a 5K PR by 3 seconds. If any number of things along they way hadn’t gone wrong, I would have nailed it. I kept muttering “three seconds!” under my breath on the walk back to the car. LOL

What a beautiful sunset. I love them, I just wish that I got to see them more. The sun goes down sometimes when I’m still at work :(

I used to love egg nog. Sometime between chugging it with my dad as a kid and now I HATE it.

Definitely a big YES to eggnog. Hood, a company up here in New England, makes flavored nog – we got pumpkin spice last time and it was delicious. But hubby also makes eggnog sometimes around the holidays, and it’s quite good when he does. :)

Looks like a great weekend! I’ve never had egg nog. I don’t know if I would like it… I’m just not a fan of sweet drinks (I prefer to eat my sweets) and I only drink milk in cereal…but I should probably try it so I can have a strong stance.

Eggnog love! As soon as Thanksgiving is over, we head out to get some cartons. Last week it was sold out at the store and I was so sad.

I found out I’m a finalist in the Got Chocolate Milk contest to become a sponsored athlete for using chocolate milk as a post recovery beverage! I was so excited to become a finalist!!! I would appreciate any votes!

Blech! Eggnog! I’ve always hated it but I always seem to taste it every so often, just to be reminded that I don’t like it.
Looks like you all had a great time! And a successful hunting trip!
