Five Things Friday

by Elizabeth on November 15, 2013

I’m linking up with Clare today for a Five Things Friday post! She has a great recovery story and is a wonderful inspiration. Let’s dive right in!

1. Tomorrow is Noah’s second birthday party! Yesterday involved lots of preparations…

2. Nuts, avocado, and cottage cheese is a winning salad topping combination.

3. It blows my mind that it’s dark at 5:30 now. And that several of our neighbors already have Christmas lights up! Go me for buying a fall wreath at hobby lobby yesterday at 50% off. I’m still trying to decide if I should go ahead and hang it or that’s just tacky…

4. I made Farro for the first time last night. I really wanted my family to like it (mainly because I made the entire bag and we have enough to feed ourselves and the rest of the city for a few weeks) so I covered theirs in velveeta cheese and also made buffalo chicken tenders. Everyone loved it! My first serving had avocado, on the second I opted for cheese. Best decision of my day!

5. It was another Oreo and pb kind of night. Joe doesn’t even care when I eat them in bed and get crumbs all over.

Tonight Joe and I are going to Vic and Anthony’s for a date night! I’m really looking forward to trying it. Have an awesome Friday!!!

Have you ever tried Farro? How do you cook it?

When do you put up Christmas decorations?

One of my friends just mentioned buying farro from Costco. I’ve never heard of it (but I can’t eat it anyway). That birthday cake looks fantastic!

Perfect day to do it in my opinion :-)

Oreos and PB = YES!!! And I love the orange ones for Halloween!
My family decorates for Christmas usually on Thanksgiving, since everyone is home and we can all decorate the tree together. My roommates though have already started decorating. I’m definitely not mad about it.

It’s even better now that they are 50% off ;-) I love that your family still decorates together!

I tried faro for the first time at Wegmans because it was on the salad bar and I LOVED the chew of it. It’s definitely a good one! My mom and I are planning to put up Christmas lights on one of the warmer days this week but we aren’t turning them on until the day after Thanksgiving. I feel bad for Thanksgiving because its becoming so underappreciated. Each holiday deserves its own lovin’!

I actually hate decorating for the holidays. The only thing we put up is a tree because we have kids. lol. So lazy.

Those oreos looks kind of awesome.

I usually put up Christmas decorations starting on black Friday. I will actually be putting decorations up the weekend before Thanksgiving this year at the boyfriend’s place because he is going to be away for a lot of December. I’m kind of excited to get an early start. Oh and the Xmas music already started for me…like weeks ago haha!

Tom won’t let me eat in bed!! I used to all the time but now it grosses me out. No judgement though since I used to! Weird how you can change views on that kind of stuff, huh?

Can’t wait for the party tomorrow!
