Last Brazil day…

by Elizabeth on November 14, 2013

It’s so great to be home! And it’s Thursday which means tomorrow is Friday and Noah’s birthday party is Saturday. There will be lots of baking and preparations going on today.

The flight home went pretty well however, there’s nothing like going from spending a day at a gorgeous beach where it’s 107 to getting off a plane at 5 am into 37 degree weather. Talk about a slap back into reality ;-)

Our last day in Brazil (Tuesday) we walked a little ways to a lake that had a 4 mile walking/jogging trail around it. It was really cool how they had parks for kids every mile and parks for adults with workout equipment. There is definitely a huge commitment to fitness in Brazil. There were no less than hundreds of people walking, biking, and running at any given time!

While walking around I kept seeing people with this dark purple smoothie looking thing and it looked so cool and refreshing. After asking around I found out it was an acai smoothie and you could add protein, vitamins, and fruit to make it exactly how you wanted. We tried one with strawberry and one with banana on the way back to the apartment after the run.

After showers and getting ready we went to our last lunch with my FIL at a fort on the water. It was warm but the views were incredible.

I had a giant salad and split a grilled cheese with Noah.

We laid out on the beach all afternoon (won’t be doing that anytime soon here? ha!) and for dinner we wanted pastels one more time. Add two more to my plate when these were demolished.

And a few random pics from yesterday? split pea soup and oreos dipped in peanut butter. I can’t eat them without thinking of The Parent Trap…

Awesome picture quality I know!

Have a great day!!!

Questions:

1. Any other grilled cheese lovers out there?

2. What are your weekend plans?

3. Oreos dipped in pb, yay or nay?

I’m a huge grilled cheese fan. We went to a food truck bash at the end of October and there was supposed to be some famous grilled cheese truck there which was going to be our first stop…until we found out they WEREN’T there! There were many devastations. LOL

I have to say I’m not a fan of PB on Oreos…I like to eat the cookie half of 2 cookies, then smoosh the creamy halves together. Yum!

Girl, you’d save yourself some time getting double stuffed ;-)

How disappointing about the food festival. I’d be devastated too!!!

I am a grilled cheese LOVER. I love the places who make “gourmet” grilled cheeses with fruit and all kinds of things on them. Comfort food at its finest! And I used to love splitting the Oreos and putting whipped cream on them. TRY IT!

Good idea!!! Thank you! I’ve never been to a gourmet grilled cheese restaurant but it sounds like my kind of place! We did find a gourmet MAC and cheese place when I was pregnant with Noah and that place was awesome!!!

LOVE grilled cheese! It’s one of my winter staples – so easy, comforting, and delicious!

Heck yes to PB on Oreos! With a glass of milk on the side. ;)

So funny you mentioned the milk… As I was eating it I thought about putting Oreos in a bowl with milk and calling it cereal this morning for breakfast ;) No different than our cookie dough cereal, right?

NAY on Oreos dipped in PB? but I’m allergic so I might be biased ;) I’ve never tried it, but I imagine they’d be great with AB too.

Agreed! And I totally thought of you (my friend with a peanut allergy) recently when I went to eat a Reese’s and got sad for all the ppl are allergic to pb! I was wondering why they don’t make an almond butter variety yet?!?

That smoothie looks SO good right now!’
I LOVE grilled cheese, it was all I could eat a couple months ago when I was in the first trimester of hell and nothing sounded even remotely appetizing.

LOVE grilled cheese!! I’ve been talking about making that for dinner for over a week now and The Hus never wants it! :( I like to make them with about 3 or 4 different cheeses. Chocolate and PB = perfect dessert!

Wow! That acai smoothie looks amazing! Reminds me of the one from jamba juice, but that one looks way better! All that food looks so good..I must be hungry.
I can actually say I’ve never tried oreos and pb. I definitely will sometime.
Enjoy your weekend and your little guys birthday party!

Ha, I thought you were gunna say oreos dipped in your split pea soup! I know I have some strange food combos, but that’s even a little out there for me. Glad it was pb instead. Makes me think of parent trap too!
