Treat Yourself Tuesday #4: Date Night

by Elizabeth on October 8, 2013

It’s that time again! A huge thanks to Becky for putting on Treat Yourself Tuesday each week. I’m loving it!

Although there were lots of donuts treats throughout the week, the main one that I wanted to share with you was a surprise group date we went on Friday night. You can see someone has a hard time saying goodbye?

This was our ride for the evening. My brother in law planned this date night for all of Joe’s siblings and their spouses. Unfortunately, one couple had to leave town for an emergency so we found a fill in couple :-)

We started the ride off right with a toast! Your choice of regular, non-alcoholic champagne, or Coors Light for the ultra classy people ;-)

The limo ride was such a blast! We didn’t stop laughing the whole time.

The guys had made dinner reservations at Mark’s American Cuisine. It’s voted the most romantic restaurant in Houston! It felt like a church inside. And although I can think of more romantic places just because it was super crowded (these aren’t my pictures? but just so you can see what it looked like), the food was spectacular.

I ordered bison which was a special that night and it came with all sorts of vegetables and red lentils. It was amazing!!!

I also get brussels sprouts everywhere we go if they have them…

We ran out of time because we were on the limo’s schedule but they had nutella filled donuts and sticky bun bread pudding on the dessert menu. Joe and I WILL be returning to try them!

Questions:

1. When/where was your last date night?

2. Have you ever ridden in a limo?

3. How did you treat yourself this week?

My last date night was last night to a new-to-me/us hibachi restaurant. It was so fun, but the people at our table were so unenthused, so my date and I made it fun ourselves. I have ridden in a limo…when we take family vacations, we take a limo to the airport instead of driving/taxing. It’s fun :D

I treated myself to a few desserts at Disney :D

Happy TYT :). When you go back for those nutella donuts, would you mind ordering me some? And then mailing them over? Thanks, you’re the best.

What a fun night! My last limo ride was last summer. We went to Las Vegas for my sisters wedding and my uncles wedding was the next day. We rode around in a limo until the wee hours of the morning. It was a blast.

Such a fun night. And I love bison so that would be perfect. :) And always fun to go on a group date – makes me think of dinner before prom in high school though. . .;)

This sounds like such a fun night, I love your dress! My last date night with my boyfriend had to be rescheduled because I came down with a nasty cold, but we did spend Saturday wine tasting and apple picking! I can’t wait to hear about the nutella filled donuts :)

PS- I was tagged in a Sunshine award and would like to share it with you! Check out my Monday post for the rules and questions if you would like to join in!

Same! Brussel Sprouts are the best and I will never tire of eating them, nor finding different ways to cook them!
And bison! YUMMM!! I would have ordered that too! I like the way they prepared it! :)
Have a great day!

Cute dress! I treated myself to a huge bean burrito from Los Betos. A local authentic Mexican restaurant in town! I also had a few s’mores around the campfire.

p.s. Your meal looks fantastic!

That bison looks delicious!
I’ve never ridden in a limo ( I was stubborn and refused to go to prom in one).
This past Sunday, my brother and I treated my parents to Ruth’s Chris, and I had the filet mignon and lobster. It was a really great meal!

Oh my gosh, I love this idea for a date night AND for TYT! I haven’t been in a limo in years and actually I’ve only been in one twice – once for our wedding and once when we landed in Vegas. My husband surprised with a special ride to the hotel :) And that restaurant – I love bison and brussels sprouts and don’t get me started on nutella-filled donuts <3 Thanks for linking up!

That sounds like such a fun night out!! Nutella filled donuts sound amazing, I would definitely return for those too. Our last official date night was last weekend (the one before the one that just passed) where we went away for the weekend to the Okanagan Valley in BC as a belated anniversary celebration. It was a ton of fun.

More recently we actually ate dinner on a week night at the dinner table with a candle lit and wine and it felt like a date night even though it was a home cooked meal.

My last date night… probably the county fair in July when my boyfriend and I were still together. Although I went to a bluegrass music festival in San Francisco this weekend with friends, and have started going to trivia night once a week with other friends… it’s like a date with my own social life! Ha.
My aunt and mom surprised me with a limo for my sixteenth birthday party. All my friends showed up and we drove to the movie theater, where we saw Happy Feet in 3D (yes, really).
I bought myself a Longchamp purse this week… more of a treat than my usual Monday latte!!!

Wow that is definitely a beautiful restaurant and a delicious looking dinner! Your whole gang dressed up looks pretty fancy too! It’s been a while since I was in a limo but I know it’s always a good time. We just got back from a week’s vacation in Disney World so I treated myself quite extravagantly this week! lol!
