Picture day. Wraps. Nestle Tollhouse!

by Elizabeth on September 26, 2013

Hello, hello! How are you on this beautiful Thursday? We have an exciting couple of days ahead of us so I can’t help but feel extra chipper this morning ;-) Not to mention it was 70 on my walk this morning!

Yesterday was picture day at Noah’s school. When I came to pick him up I was informed he had the best picture experience out of anyone in the class. A lot of the kids were scared by the camera and photographer but when they pointed the camera at Noah he knew what to do? Maybe my having a blog and forcing him to take pictures 43 times a day until I get the shot I want gave him an edge.

Pretty good for not even two years old. However, I think I’ll train the next one to fold laundry and wash floors ;-)

I could write my Treat Yourself Tuesday post based on the things I did yesterday. On my way back home I made a stop at one of my favorite places in the entire world?.

The best thing about Nestle is that they put things they didn’t sell the day before on the counter for 50% off which means I get to buy twice as much? an oreo, red velvet, and turtle brownie.

I managed to get a bunch of housework done (which motivated me to train my next child to do it all for me) and squeeze in a nap before I picked him up and we headed out for a walk with some of our favorite people.

I’ve been alone for most of my dinners lately, hence the lack of recipes since I don’t usually cook something elaborate for just myself but I saw this recipe for a copycat Starbucks Spinach and Feta wrap so made that for one…

Into a La Tortilla Factory wrap went a scrambled egg, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, feta, and mushrooms. Perfection!

I hope you have an amazing day! Run a little for me!

Questions:

1. Thoughts on Starbucks?

2. Thoughts on Nestle Tollhouse?

3. Tell me something awesome about your week!

My boyfriend and I have a tradition that we get starbucks early on Black Friday and then go shopping. It’s so much fun and we always get a holiday flavor and share each others. Other than that… too expensive for every day!
Can you believe I FORGOT picture day! I had my envelope ready and I work nights so in the mornings I’m lucky to know what day it is… I totally forgot! I cried.
Then I was reminded of picture makeup day! IYIYI I need a huge calendar in my house!

Ok so how did I not know that Nestlé has a little cafe where you can but their baked goods? I’ve been missing out. Also, I kind of wish my parents took more pictures of me growing up so that whenever I get professional photos done now they don’t tell me stop looking so awkward…

That wrap picture and description may have just provided me with dinner inspiration. [Since I'm on my own tonight, too!] Otherwise, takeout was a distinct possibility. Thank you! :)

What a dapper little dude!

Funny story about kid pics: my wife is a nanny and the last family she worked for had twin girls. She would have them pose so often for pictures, often with their heads together, that if she just said “sister lean”, they knew to lean against each other and put their heads together. I nearly fell off my chair the first time I witnessed it!

I can’t believe that I never knew that they put stuff from the day before out for 50% off. ..I obviously need to get to the mall earlier to take advantage of that!! And can’t wait to see Noah’s school picture – so cute!!

For some reason, whenever I get Starbucks coffee, I really feel the caffeine. I drink coffee every day in the morning, but make it at home. I rarely go to Starbucks, but when I do, it’s usually in the afternoon. Maybe that’s why I get the caffeine jitters lol.

And I’ve never been to a Nestle Toll House before! Those brownies look so decadent :P

Yum! The wrap look so good, and it definitely resembles the Starbucks one (except yours probably has a lot less sodium!). I like Sbux, but I always ask for less pumps of the sweetener in their flavored drinks… and I try to get it only once in a while because it can add up to a lot of monies.

Those brownies look too good to be true. I loovveee starbucks Iced Chai Tea but limit it to special occasions (roadtrips, sight seeing on vacays, etc) since its crazy over priced.

Nestle Tollhouse are my favorite chocolate chips! It also always makes me think of the Friends episode where Monica & Phoebe are trying to figure out Phoebe’s grandmothers cookie recipe & it turns out it’s the one on the Nestle Tollhouse bag… haha!!!

Because of that episode, I cannot pronounce “Nestle Tollhouse” in the normal way, it is the french-ish way Pheobe does it!

Looks like all of his camera time paid off in the end ;) I’m definitely a huge fan of Starbucks but more or less for their coffee. I can’t get enough coffee in my system! And I used to love going to Nestle every time I went to the mall with my mom. The cookie pies are TO DIE FOR. I just love how everything tastes half raw.

A Nestle Tollhouse Store?? Never have I ever heard of such a thing! It’s probably dangerous. I never have to go purchase baked goods though. I LOVE to bake, plus my coworkers love to bring some in. Today I’ve been offered: Chocolate Cake, Carrot Cake, Dunkin Donuts, Pistachio Cake, and Funfetti cake. Seriously.

That wrap looks yummy. I think I’ll get some tortillas next time I go shopping:-D

Noah’s just the perfect little blog model! hehe

Those brownies look unbelievable, once I read red velvet I think my mouth wanted to jump into the computer screen! My favorite! We do not have a nestle store like that here, but I definitely wouldn’t mind if they added one!

I love that Starbucks wrap! I stopped buying them (unless truly desperate) after hearing their “egg whites” are made up of 15 different ingredients. I figured I was better off (for several reasons) to just make my own egg sandwich at home… now I have to try the wrap!

Love Starbucks! They know me by name at the one I go to but I like it :) makes me feel like i’m back home! Haven’t had any food except the skinny poppyseed muffin though.
Awesome thing about our week last week was our first trip as a family to Germany!
