Crazy clipper lady, priceless art work, pizza, and frosting.

by Elizabeth on September 19, 2013

As you may or may not know from yesterday’s instagram, someone got a little snip happy on Noah’s hair! Fortunately, his hair grows at a rate of approximately 4 inches a week so it shouldn’t take too long to grow back. He looks like a different kid though!

Since he had school yesterday, I was able to spend some time working on house crafts.

Dang you Hobby Lobby for taking all of my money! I’ll post the final products soon :-)

I’m not the only one who got to express their artistic side? Is it bad that I really want to frame this and hang it over our fireplace? P.S. I love how the mom is at the top ;-)

I had a friend ask if I quit doing the 30 Days of Fabulous Fall Food. In all honesty, it took me longer than expected to get my life reorganized after the trip and I have yet to do meal planning/run to the grocery store! Plus, I figure fall isn’t technically over until Thanksgiving so I have some time. Anyway, day 10 involved pizza!

Roasted Veggie Alfredo Pizza:

  • 1 roll of pizza dough (you could also make your own? I was feeling less than ambitious last night!)
  • 1 cup alfredo sauce
  • 1/2 red pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 yellow pepper, chopped,
  • 1 cup cooked spinach
  • 1/4 red onion
  • garlic salt to taste
  • jalepenos

I baked my pizza crust at 400 for 6 minutes before taking it back out of the oven to add the toppings. I trust you know how to add pizza toppings at this point in your life! We like our crust on the doughier side so I put it back in for 7 more minutes!

This was our first family dinner since I’ve been home and it was nice to reconnect! We went for a short walk afterwards. I like that the days are getting shorter. And when the weather wants to cool off I won’t complain about that either! My night ended with my couch, a spoon, and a jar of Hershey’s s’mores frosting. Please refrain from judging.

Poor Noah’s hair : ( Hopefully it will grow back quickly!

I just started following your blog and I love it! I can’t believe I have never seen it before!

I love doing crafts, but I wish I had more time for them. I wish I could just not work, stay home, blog, make new recipes, and craft all day! Wouldn’t that be great?!? hehe Dreams do come true.. maybe one day! : )

Yesterday was a spoon in frosting kinda day for me too. Sometimes it just has to happen.

We were talking about bad haircuts at work and agreed it is so hard to tell the stylist that you don’t like it when you’re in the chair! Then you go home and hate it until it grows out. If only we weren’t such people pleasers!

A bad haircut? I actually had the worst haircut of my life this weekend (dramatic much?). I’m rocking what appears to be a mullet. I’m usually dissatisfied with haircuts I get. I like all crafts, but don’t spend nearly enough time doing them. I decided I would be making most of gifts I’ve giving for Christmas this year. I guess I better start crocheting!

omg I’ve had some bad haircut experiences. I wanted short hair, but it was an awkward length with weird bangs. I had to pull it into the tiniest ponytail for volleyball and use a headband, which made my hair stick straight up sometimes when it slipped out.

That pizza looks delicious! I have had so many bad haircut experiences. I had a mullet in fifth grade and that was a pretty horrible experience.

He -does- look different! But still completely adorable :) And I really wish I could get my craftiness back. I used to be all about making stuff, but it kind of died off the older I got. I still get super excited whenever I walk into a craft store, but the motivation kind of dies there…

This sounds SO good! I love when pizzas are made with alfredo-type sauces :).

I have had my fair share of bad hair cuts. there was one time I cut it and then 1 week later got it cut again because i was so disappointed in the first hair cut. My hair became pretty short at the end of it all. I love that you are crafting. It is getting me motivated to start working on some crafts I have in mind!

My mission in life is to make sure no woman feels guilty for eating frosting with a spoon. You’re allllll good ;).

I’m a purist, so my favorite frosting is vanilla buttercream. Mmm :) And, yes, I’ve had bad haircuts. When I was four I chopped my water fountain off (you know the style), so I had to get a boy haircut. Then just a couple of years ago, a lady cut my hair into a mullet. I got that fixed ASAP, but it made for funny pictures.

I had a lady add so many layers to my hair once that it look absolutely awful!! Oh it was bad. Grew those babies out for years.
Love frosting! But not really cream cheese frosting. I know, I’m an anomaly.

Hershey S’mores frosting?! I must find this!!

14 Liz @ The Girl on Fire Now September 19, 2013 at 8:11 pm

Aww :( Noah still looks adorable. I had an awful hair cut in the 6th grade where I told the woman I didn’t like layers, she said to trust her, and then it was uneven and unattractive

Noah looks so cute with his new haircut. He looks older with it shorter. Yes, I got such a bad haircut once, but let’s not go there…

That pizza looks delicious!
