Just for the record.

by Elizabeth on September 4, 2013

I am 100% aware this post may bore some of you to tears. It’s really more for my records than anything else…

So today is Noah’s first day of school.

Please do not be alarmed that I gave him buffalo blue cheese crackers. The other day he drank buffalo sauce straight out of a ramekin (don’t know where he got that from?) And I also realize at 22 months he can’t read. You never know if he might learn on the first day so I wanted to be prepared and wrote him a napkin note.

We forced him to take pictures outside with his new backpack and lunchbox.

The fall recipe madness continues. Dinner was pesto sausage pasta.

Pesto + sausage = a winning combination! There was also alfredo, veggies, and salt and pepper thrown into the mix.

I also made my first crockpot dessert! Recipe coming tomorrow :-) Cookie dough and brownies were involved.

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Questions:

1. Are you/your kids back in school yet?

2. Thoughts on pesto?

3. Have you ever made a crockpot dessert?

I don’t have any kids yet (nor am I married) lol, but my mom was sending me pictures from when I was in grade school as yesterday was my last first day of undergrad!!! I’m definitely glad that she took pictures because they are adorable to look back at!!!

and that has to be the cutest picture of him EVER!!!

Also, pesto is AMAZING. Definitely a great “spread” or “sauce” to add to a dinner meal!

Have a great day :)

That pic of Noah is adorable! Hope he has a great first day :)
Don’t have a crockpot, so I have never made a crockpot dessert. I do have this rice kookier gadget that can act like a slow cooker. Will that work?

Oh gosh, that photo of Noah is so adorable. Got to love the outfit.
I remember my parents told me my first days of school I refused to wear anything but disney clothes. Like it literally had to be Disney or I wouldn’t leave the house…this went on for like a year. How embarrassing for myself;)
Can’t wait for your crockpot dessert recipe! I still haven’t tried any of those yet!

I think that note is so adorable! It’s so so sweet. Also, is that a pre-made sandwich cutter? I would love to eat an Elmo sandwich :D Noah looks so cute and I hope he has a blast! Good luck, Elizabeth, in dealing with the first day!!

Awww I love that you wrote him a note – you totally need to save that for him for his baby book or scrapbook. Hope you did ok with his first day, I know it can be hard on Mom too!! And I am super excited that you are joining Becky and I for dinner at HLS!!! :)

I like pesto from my favorite local restaurant, but when I tried to make it at home it was AWFUL. So disappointing. The only crockpot dessert I’ve ever made was cinnamon and sugar pecans. They were just like the ones you find at a fair. They’re one of my favorite treats.

Aww! Good luck to Noah on his first day of school! I remember my mom taking pics of me on my first day, and looking back on them is so much fun. I’ve been out of school for a few years now, but I still get nostalgic around this time…

On no… tears but not from boredom. The girls haven’t started school yet and I miss them just thinking about it! Noah is adorable! And so is his lunch.
I made a pumpkin custard in the crockpot when I was pregnant and craving pumpkin… Time to break that recipe out again (not pregnant, just craving pumpkin)!

Today is my kids first day back in school. I don’t even know what to do with myself! 6 hours alone? I haven’t had this much time since before I got married! It feels weird.

I guess I have no excuse not to make dinner tonight!
