More sprinkles and buffalo chicken dip (eaten separately).

As I mentioned yesterday, I tried a few new recipes Saturday for my niece’s baptism reception. This buffalo chicken dip was definitely a winner in my book! 

Spicy buffalo chicken bread bowl:

  • Two loaves French bread
  • 16 oz Franks hot sauce
  • 1 lb shredded boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup bleu cheese

Combine chicken, Franks sauce, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese in a bowl. Mix and spread in a pan. Cook for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. While it’s cooking, hollow out one of the French bread loaves. When the dip has cooked, pour it into the hollow loaf and top with bleu cheese. Put it back in the oven for 5 minutes. Use remaining bread to dip in and enjoy!

Everyone said it was REALLY spicy and Joe advised me to use less Franks next time. I enjoy food that burns your face off so I liked it.

I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this on the blog but I have a hard time wasting food and I genuinely like making new things out of leftovers. Some times it’s a bust but last night that wasn’t the case!

I cooked up some penne pasta and used the leftover dip as sauce for the noodles. Bleu cheese and jalepenos for garnish!

After running errands yesterday I found myself near my favorite cupcake place, and I think it would be a sin to drive by without going in. They didn’t have my all time favorite salted caramel but I did settle on a new-to-me flavor: cinnamon sugar. The cake actually starts where the cupcake paper starts. The rest = frosting :-)

I also got a red velvet for Joe (he loves red velvet) but ended up eating it on the way home. 

Just kidding.

After my posts last week, I’ve had several emails about what “worked” in my recovery. I’m working on gathering the resources I use on a daily basis that keep me focused and on the right track. I hope to share them with you soon.

I am not a spicy person – I did a hot sauce challenge at camp last year and am scarred for life ;) In all seriousness, I don’t care for spicy stuff
Those cupcakes look good, but I like the cupcake part better than icing (I’m weird, I know; the icing just gets too sweet/rich for me)

That pasta looks delicious! Since I’m from Buffalo, I don’t know that I even have a choice in the matter. I do love it though, especially chicken wing dip. Sometimes I add chopped celery and carrots to my dip. It makes it taste incredible, and makes me feel like it’s a little more healthy. I’ve started to enjoy spicy foods more as I’ve gotten older, but I think my stomach hates me for it.

I’m not a huge fan of buffalo sauce or hot sauce… I don’t mind it if I have blue cheese with it though. And by that I mean a LOT of blue cheese, so that I don’t taste the hot sauce…! :)

My favorite spicy dish is probably queso. I can handle spiciness better when I have lots of cheese with it :)

I love buffalo chicken dip. It’s so deadly I cen never stop eating it. I’ve made it with a little less hot sauce and some ranch dressing and that way is also really, really delicious! :)

I love spicy! I make that Buffalo Chicken Dip from a recipe on I put it in a tortilla and eat it as a sandwich. It’s a great easy lunch because you can make it on Sunday and eat it all week!

Love buffalo chicken dip!! I make it all the time for get togethers because everyone loves it! I use ranch instead of blue cheese, though! I do love anything with cheese, though! Haha

I’m a wimp. I can’t do anything too spicy, although I am ok with a tiny kick. Just not a big one.

I do love Indian Food!! Chicken Coconut Kurma is the yummiest.

I love spicy foods, and I sometimes make my food extra hot so the wimps won’t eat it and I’ll have more to myself ;) I am a strong believer in sriracha and it’s powers to make everything it touches more delicious. I also like spicy noodle soups and SUPER spicy curries!

I must say, I’m not a huge fan of Sprinkles cupcakes (well, I’m not the biggest cupcake fan, to be honest), but that dip? Gahhhhhh, I want to hot tub in that bread bowl.

I’m the biggest wimp when it comes to spicy food. I’m pretty sure my tongue goes into self-defense mode whenever I eat anything that’s too hot, because I completely lose the ability to taste any food after that. Luckily I’ve managed to build up a slightly better tolerance towards it, but for the most part I like to keep things pretty mild.

Oh my goodness thank you so much for this idea! :-) I made the buffalo chicken dip (basically the same recipe) for our first Virginia Tech tailgate last fall and everyone loved it so much that they insisted that I bring it to all of the games, so I did. I love how this year I can bring it up a notch by putting it in a bread bowl. I never thought of that!

I’m from south Louisiana, so I love spicy food. That being said, I’m not a huge fan of hot sauce. I don’t really like the flavor. I love your idea of making penne with the leftover dip. It looks cheesy and delicious (I do love some mac and cheese).

That dip sounds delicious both as a dip and as a pasta sauce! Yum!

Salted Caramel is my favorite too. So yummy! I like the cinnamon ones okay, but not nearly as much as salted caramel!

LOVE spicy food! Don’t love blue or cream cheese though! I made practically this exact same recipe for Mitch last week! I rather drink straight up buffalo sauce than have it mixed with cheese though ha!
