BYOP

by Elizabeth on June 27, 2013

As I mentioned yesterday, our day began with a 5 mile run and a trip to Chick Fil A with my sister in law, nephew, and niece! It’s totally normal to bring your own produce to restaurants in case you were wondering? Nectarines for the win! Along with my third spicy chicken sandwich. Last one, I swear. Maybe.

Noah is obsessed with their french fries almost as much as I’m obsessed with the lemonade…

I scrapbooked most of the afternoon and then we had our good friends Beth and Jeremy over for the evening. I made whole wheat pasta with marinara and meatballs. And a side salad.

Beth had the very important job of bringing dessert. I choose my friends very carefully based on their ability to pick desserts. She didn’t disappoint. She chose to pick up Dessert Gallery and OMG. I went there two years ago on my birthday and they never disappoint! Cake balls plus several types of chocolate cake = one of the best nights of your life.

I hope you had an amazing Wednesday!!! Crazy how fast this week is flying by.

Questions:

1. How often do you have company over for dinner?

2. Do you tend to order out or cook yourself?

3. How do you pick your friends ;-)

Well I was going to say that I pick my friends based on how trustworthy and caring they are, but your approach seems much more reasonable ;) Holy.wow does that dessert spread look AMAZING. Especially loving the little tuxedo detail on the Oreos.

The dessert looks pretty exceptional but I have to say, I am kind of drooling over the spicy chicken sandwich instead! I LOVE those things and it has been way too long since I have treated myself to one. I am thinking Chick Fil A is going to be my lunch of choice tomorrow!!!

I need to go to Chick Fil A before I die. I’ve heard only amazing things about the lemonade. I pick friends who have lots of money and fame, and want to buy me things.

Kidding, kidding. I usually pick people who have a similar sense of humor! I’m pretty sarcastic and sometimes people don’t pick up on that… Awkward!

I eat out more than I really should. It’s bad. But I’m trying to cook more! I made some awesome breaded baked chicken the other night. Now I have left overs!!
A friend’s dessert choices is definitely something to watch for when picking friends. What if they don’t like any dessert?! How are you supposed to trust them?

I totally bring my own produce to restaurants with me, I love that someone else does that too. I mean sometimes you just have to round out your sides for the meal.

Again, so jealous that you’ve had Chick-fil-a three times in the past couple of days. I tend to eat in more than eating out just because I spend SO MUCH money when I eat out all the time. If I could, I’d probably do 75% to 25% eating out to cooking, but that would probably be unhealthy and it would cost me a fortune.

I pick my friends based on how well THEY cook, that way I can get essentially eat out, have leftovers, and it’s pretty much free :)

Haha, I kind of like your idea of picking friends. Sounds like a really reasonable thing to me;)
Those desserts look all kinds of awesome, but chocolate is always a winner in my books.
I definitely cook for myself more often than ordering. Actually I can’t remember the last time I ordered in so I guess I just like to cook.

Those desserts look great, but please don’t hate me when I say that it looks like too much chocolate! :-)

We’ve met a lot of our friends through running, or through my work. Also we are good friends with some of our neighbors. We eat out a couple of times per week… usually carry out.

1. How often do you have company over for dinner? Once a week atleast! My friend Holly comes over to catch up on tv shows online (since neither of us have cable)- so I always cook us all dinner and she brings wine :)

2. Do you tend to order out or cook yourself? Cook for ourselves. We’re saving for a house, so we try not to go out to eat very often. It’s usually once every other week or so.

3. How do you pick your friends ;-) If they bring us beer or wine, they’re our friends :) Food works too though!

You really have your priorities right when choosing friends…amen. Ha! You crack me up! And, the love and need for Chick-Fil-A really cannot be denied. I applaud you for meeting your needs. :-)

Oh, and the pasta and meatballs…will we be seeing a recipe? I sure hope so! Yum!

I’ve brought apples to restaurants too – glad I’m not alone, haha! I actually choose my friends based on their ability to come running with me and then devour far too much ice cream. They are surprisingly hard to find. ;)
