Rainforest, park adventures, and star gazing.

by Elizabeth on June 23, 2013

I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far! I’m having trouble deciding which pictures from yesterday I want to show you so be prepared to sit through all of them…

After I got in a quick 5 mile in the morning we headed to brunch at the Rainforest Cafe! P.S. Only 2 more days until I found out if I was selected to run the Houston Marathon next year!

This place is a 19 month old’s dream come true. Besides being told he never has to go night night again and can live at Grammy’s.

Joe ordered an (unappropriate?) brunch drink. He doesn’t wish he was in Cancun or anything?.

Noah really got into the rainforest spirit.

For food I decided on a mushroom, red pepper, and spinach omlette and Joe, of course, made the healthier decision ;-)

I did have a bite or two…

I spent the afternoon working on some defensive driving, but not before we played at the park for a bit. In case you wondering I do own stuff to clean my camera lens and yes, I plan on doing it sometime in the next month or two.

Tire swings = pure joy.

If any of my neighbors drove by while I was taking this shot I won’t only be known as “the girl with the stroller who runs a lot” but we can tack on “and lays under a tire swing making ridiculous faces and noises with a giant camera.”

We ended the night with grilling outside and our new pre bedtime tradition of sitting out under the stars. It was a pretty perfect Saturday!

How did you spend your Saturday?

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten this weekend so far?

My sons loved Rainforest Cafe when they were little!

I started my Saturday off by going on a great run with the Cruisers. The weather was pretty great for mid-June, so the run felt even better! Then we had some friends over for coffee
and snacks and sat outside on our patio by the creek. It was great!

Your son is so cute!

My Saturday was an easy 4 mile run with my husband, laying around until we had to get ready for a wedding, and then going to said wedding. It was great to have a night out on the town with A!

We had amazing food at a brew pub before the wedding! I’m always too hungry to wait for food until 7 pm at weddings, so we ate before. And I’m so glad we did! It was al locally grown and organic- pimento cheese crustinis and a buckwheat pretzel with homemade mustard sauce. SO GOOD!

Rainforest Cafe is such fun for the kiddos and your omelet looks really good! I don’t think they had those last time I was there. Best thing I’ve had this weekend was mighty delicious….sushi and froyo for dessert, last night!!

Love the tire swing pic! Mitch and I were just talking about tire swings yesterday! We want one for our tree in the backyard! Yesterday we had a fun park day! I love spending the day outside with M and S! Hope y’all are having a fun Sunday too!

Oh I love the rainforest cafe! I went on a run yesterday and then watched my boyfriends soccer match. This morning I had a workout and coffee date with a friend. Great pics as usual!

Yesterday I got in my first strength work out in a long time (ouch!!!), hit the pool with the roommates (um…another ouch since I didn’t wear sunscreen. which I do 99.999% of the time!), and went to an old school drive in for dinner. It was awesome.

Sounds like a fun weekend. Noah is getting so big!! He looks so grown up!

My saturday was a run and laundry….and figuring out my new blog!!!!!! I totally get the whole neighbors think you are the girl who runs thing! I have had people at our grocery store ask me if I am the one they see running through town all the time :).
Best food was a coffee ice cream sugar cone…(it is probably not good that my favorite food is ice cream :) )!

The rainforest cafe is probably one of the best places ever, not just for a 19 month baby. :) I am pretty sure I would have just as much fun has Noah had. Your day sounds great. My Saturday was spent packing.
