Birthday and Cinco de Mayo!

by Elizabeth on May 6, 2013

Being away from the computer all weekend = lots of pictures for you today! You don’t have to tell me how excited you are or how much you missed me ;-)

Saturday we celebrated my brother in law’s 28th birthday (and last one before he’s a daddy!) at a local festival that took place outside of a brewery. It was packed with people, food, and drinks. Anna and I are rocking the Ray Bans from Christmas. Turns out $8 in Mexico was a good investment.

I give you the many faces of Noah. This is his thug conductor look:

And the rockstar:

For Cinco de Mayo we had people over for BBQ, swimming, and fun at the park! Kid-friendly margaritas…

Chips con queso (dropped a little español in there for ya.)

And totally unMexican but still blog worthy was more jalepeno and cheese sausage.

And of course cookie cake! Don’t mind the messed up frosting at the bottom, I tried to snag some and then realized I didn’t have a picture yet!

And finally, what is quite possibly the last picture of this trio before they become a foursome in two weeks? Heartwarming, I know!

Questions:

Tell me about your Cinco de Mayo!

What’s better: frosting or the cookie cake?

I saw that picture on instagram and it was seriously the cutest one I’ve ever seen in my life. Oh my goodness I’m dying right now. That, and the cookie cake. Holy cow you know how to win me over! The more frosting the better but I also do love the cookie part!

I celebrated a cousin’s birthday at my parent’s house. It was gorgeous out so we were able to play outside for a bit! I like the cookie frosting combination best.

I haven’t had a cookie in ages! I love cookie cakes. That trio picture is so sweet. My cinco was good, my boyfriend and I had a couple Sols (bc evidently our neighborhood bar doesn’t carry corona) and then hung out in the park because it was so nice out.

That picture is too cute! I had cookie cake this weekend also. The cookie is definitely the best part. I don’t even need the frosting!

That picture <33 I saw it on Instagram and my heart melted!! I didn't do anything yesterday for Cinco de Mayo besides eat homemade veggie nachos and lots of chips and guac, but on Saturday night I celebrated by wearing my mexican blanket skirt, drinking lots of coronas, and having a margarita. :D I def think the cookie part is the better part of the cake..I'm not really a frosting girl! I have to be in a mood.. or just eating it right out of the jar. Otherwise, I'm not a big fan of frosting haha. Such extremes.

Love the pic of the 3 of them holding hands. I ran my 6th 1/2 marathon yesterday, beating my PR by over 5 minutes. I was so happy I set a goal at the beginning and was actually able to to accomplish my goal at 2:09:06.

For the record, I did miss you. Your hair looks so cute!
Cute picture!! I didn’t do anything very Mexican for Cinco de Mayo. I know, it’s ridiculous of me. I actually had steak two days in a row. That seems like a celebration right?
Cutest cousin picture!! Cousins are the best!

That final picture warms my heart! It looks like you guys had a pretty darn good Cinco celebration, on top of a birthday, and on behalf of all those like myself – who kept the day low key – I’m glad to see you living it up! ;)

Mmm I love the cookie AND the frosting! Weird fact – I like eating the fondant off of fancy cupcakes. Pure sugar = pure yum.

We made margaritas and picked up Chipotle chicken bowls for dinner last night. Yum!

I’m surprising myself here by saying I like the cookie better than the icing. I didn’t think I liked anything better than icing! :-)

Awww, what a cute picture of Noah and his cousins!

My Cinco De Mayo had nothing to do with Mexico but it was still good! I did some wedding planning, went to the lake with friends, and had an ice cream date with my man!

It looks like you had a fun celebration!
