A REALLY AWESOME GIVEAWAY!!!

by Elizabeth on March 19, 2013

Again, we are so grateful for all of your support on the series that Joe has been writing! It’s definitely hard for me to read his posts and feel so exposed. When I want to defend myself or ask him to edit stuff to make it seem less intense, I remind myself that everyone goes through hard things in life. This just happened to be a major crisis I went through and it probably won’t be the last. I also tell myself that people probably do understand and empathize or at least try to. If I can help even one person, it’s worth it.
The weather here has been between 70 and 80 the past week so we have been taking advantage of it and spending most of our days outside. I ran with the stroller yesterday for the first time in a while and got in 8 miles!
The highlight of yesterday food wise was this pizza crust. Joe and I both loved it.
I made a pizza with cheese, marinara, jalepenos, spinach, and artichokes the size of my fist.
I know you’re probably thinking this giveaway is for cake balls and I assure you that one is coming! However in this giveaway one lucky winner will win a TRAINING PERIOD WITH MY RUNNING COACH!!! He has graciously offered to train anyone in any distance from the mile to the marathon! All you have to do is pick a race, a goal pace, and let him know what your past/current running experiences are like and he will custom build you a schedule that fits your needs to meet your goals. You can email him after workouts for feedback and tips, and if you are in the Houston area it’s possible to arrange a run or two together! Online coaches can be pricey so I encourage you to take advantage of this!

I’ve known him for over 15 years? goodness I’m old! I swam on his swim team in 3rd grade, he coached me in high school to run 5:05 in the mile and 11:08 in the 2 mile, and I still run with him today (we did 10 miles on Saturday!) He is seriously one of the friendliest, most genuine people I know. He even read at our wedding! I have no doubts the winner will have a great experience being one of his athletes.
To enter:1. Leave me a comment telling me your race of choice and goal for that race(mandatory).

2. Share this link on Facebook and let me know you did (optional).

3. Tweet: @elsauvageau My Neon Running Shoes Giveaway! Personal running coach and individualized training plan!!! Let me know you did. (optional)
The deadline to enter is 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 21 and the winner will be announced Friday! Good luck!!!

My favorite race so far has been the Fugitive Run. It’s a mud/obstacle run, about 3-4 miles, where started out in jail with zip ties on our hands like handcuffs. When we ‘broke out of jail’ we had to cut the zip ties and keep our flags from the guards chasing us!!! It was the best run I’ve done and can’t wait to do it again!!

I am signing up for the Marine Corps Marathon. I am pregnant with my first baby and was supposed to be running Boston this month for the first time ever. I could use the coaching to help me get back to qualifying for Boston (and finally get to run it) after the baby is born in June!

You are courageous for sharing your story. I too, share mine and feel at times I must edit things, but know that the ED wants us to still present ourselves as “perfect” and “put together” to the world. Real recovery is showing all parts of YOU! So proud of YOU!!!!

Wow- what a cool giveaway! I don’t think I can enter since I’m just training for two Ironman. If he’d be willing to coach for that, it would be amazing! My previous time was 12:06, but I have a lot less time to train for this one.
I have to go back and read Joe’s posts. I’m sure many people are thankful for them. A lot of people go through tough things and love to hear other people’s experiences so they know they’re not alone!
I’m super jealous of your weather. We just got home and kind of expected spring to be here. Instead we were greeted by a snowstorm!

I WANT TO WIN THIS! This is seriously amazing, Elizabeth! Probably one of the best giveaways I’ve seen on a blog so far! I’m running a 10-miler in September and I’d like to do it in 90 minutes or less. I ran my half pretty slowly (compared to training), and I’m not sure this will be achievable because this race is at Disney too and there will be a ton of people there, but it’s worth a shot!!

Ohhhhhhhh man this would be awesome. My goal (once I get over my injuries so I can actually TRAIN (every time I ramp up intensity something pops up) is to run a 1:25 half this spring or summer and a sub 3 hour full this fall :) Im not 100% sure which races just yet, because I am currently battling a couple niggles that I am afraid will flair up and sideline me yet again.

Ive got to figure out the right balance of “I feel great” and “but my body was sedentary for 3 months and did not run for 6″.

I think the idea for having Joe do some posts was great and though my husband has not read them yet I am sure at times he has felt the same way. I know that going out to eat or going to friends to eat were always very stressful for me and when we were dating, even when we were married and I was struggling, I remember going to his families to eat was even stressful. It is not nearly as bad now but I do see that I like to have control and I don’t like last minute things thrown at me. I like to plan if we are going somewhere and know it ahead of time. I am working on that though!
I really appreciate your posts and am jealous of your 80 degrees!!!! I was meant to live in warmer weather I am sure of it! Instead I have Iowa’s 28 degrees right now :( !

I would love to run the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon in October. I have registered for three half marathons over the course of the past 3 years and have been injured for all three — recurrent stress fractures. Each time, I thought I was making the necessary changes to avoid injury, but I guess not. I am just now starting to run again after the third stress fracture and I am desperately searching for ways to improve. I really want to complete a half marathon this fall as a 30th birthday gift to myself. This marathon is just a few days before the birthday!

I would love a running program for a half Marathon or a 5k. I would love a 5k time that started with a number in the teens, but have no idea how to train for that. Running that fast scares me. Lol. What an awesome and unique giveaway! Love it!

I would like to train for a full marathon and run a sub-4! For my last full, I ran just to finish and this time I would like to incorporate speed/strength/tempo workouts! :)

I would love to win this! My training partner is moving away, and I don’t know what to do without that support. My goal would be the Chicago Marathon sub 4:40 or any of the halfs I am running this year sub 2 (current record 2:11).

I’d love to run a half marathon (I was signed up for one in December but got sidelined with a knee injury). And I’d just hope for a sub-2 if I ever do get to run one!

As much as I would love to have some coaching for Boston this year, I’m afraid it’s a little too late :) … So instead, I would love to PR in the 5k this summer. Our town has a huge race on July 4 and I would love to run in the low 18′s… (pr now is 18:50). Awesome giveaway!

I would like to enter this giveawayfor my mom, Lisa. She is planning on running 50 miles in November for her 50th birthday and i know its hard to find a training plan for ultras. She is my running inspiration and the reason i just accomplished my first marathon and i think she deserves this so much!

This would be really awesome…I think anyone can benefit from using a running coach – even a running coach themselves. Sometimes it’s best to change up what you’ve gotten comfortable doing =)

I would love to have him train me to a sub 3 hour marathon. My PR at the marathon is a 3:04 and I had hopes of running a sub 3 at Boston in 3 weeks (but a stress fracture of the sacrum has messed with that plan). My goal is re-qualify for Boston with the Pocatello Marathon on August 31 and do it sub 3. I have been plagued with a series of injuries and would love the opportunity to learn how to train “smart” :)
