I am never wrong. Gender reveal edition.

by Elizabeth on March 16, 2013

I guess maybe gender reveal parties only exist in Texas? Don’t get overly disappointed though I plan on finding a St. Patrick’s Day party to crash tomorrow.

I don’t recall a time in my life when I was wrong at anything. Joe can’t either (I asked him to think really hard…) Backing up, my cousin Landon and I were BFF’s growing up and now he and his wife Nicole are expecting their first baby in August!!! They are going to make awesome parents!!!

Anyway, back to how I’m never wrong. I find a way to ensure I am right and so yesterday I wore pink and blue and also made pink AND blue cake balls to cover my bases. Some call it manipulation, I call it genius.

You already know I am obsessed with holidays themed things so let’s keep right on moving to the good stuff.

We were late and they were kind enough to wait for us!!! (Side note: if I ever have another baby and decide to have a gender reveal party you better know I’m not waiting for anyone!!! Not even you, Joe. Be on time!)

The suspense builds…

AHHHHH it’s a BOY!!!! Landon and Nicole have Noah and another nephew, Layton, so their little guy has life long built in friends!

Just for the record, Noah and I really did think boy. My entire family thought girl but determining babys’ genders before it’s known is my 6th sense so if you are pregnant and want to know just email me ;-)

What a perfect day!!! We love you three so much!!!

What’s the last kind of party you went to?!

Okay so I was a little off in my St. Patty’s day party guess, but those little balls look green and orange to me! Congrats to your cousin and his wife :) Those balloons are a super sweet way to reveal the gender.

I thought it was just the screen on my phone… I am seeing green and orange here too :).
Congrats on a new little boy in your family! Gender reveal parties are so fun!

Gender reveal parties are the new thing! So cute!

I am having a birthday party for my brother tonight. He’s a St. Patrick’s Day baby!

Last party: Chinese New Year.

[FYI: Red velvet would be the appropriate cake ball to bring to such an event. Just in case you ever need to know. ;-)]

Cute! How fun! Ok someday when I’m having my first baby, you get to tell me what the gender is ;)

Last party I went to was probably my combined birthday party with my best friend! It was a Moustache Bash.

Oh my gosh! Her belly is so little! I agree with Amanda, the cakeballs looked green and orange to me, which is why I guessed St. Patrick’s Day! You can come crash my St. Patty’s day party if you bring some cake balls ;) or even if you don’t, you can still crash it.

I’ve never seen the balloon in the box gender reveal before – such a cute idea! I thought that the cake balls looked awfully green, as well, but it looks like you guys had a really awesome time at the gender reveal!

Yes! Pinterest is the best for things like this. I once saw a gender reveal where the parents cracked open an egg that had the babies name inside. The video was adorable!

I third, fourth, and fifth on the cake balls looking green and orange. I was going to guess that you were rooting for a basketball team with those colors!

gender reveal parties are becoming pretty pop-u-lar these days. My sis is planning on having one next month and if I do say so myself finding out whether I am going to have a new niece or nephew is going to be a great bday present to me : ) I’m thinking pink (they already have a little boy). Think she is going to do the cutting into a cake or cake pop idea. Congrats on your upcoming nephew!!

correction, your upcoming 2nd cousin!!

Such special memories!!!! Last party I went to was a super bowl party that we hosted :). I finished my 1st 10k today!!! 41:47….my goal was 42 so I was happy! It was pretty windy to and mile 5 was right into the wind…almost felt like I was going backward :).

Yay for being right again L! I really think you should make a career out of this baby gender guessing! Last party I went to was S 6 month b day party! We are big believers in celebrating half birthdays in our family! It consisted of me eating my share of cake and hers bc she can’t have any yet! I also bought her the cutest jean shorts! Still on the look out for her purple running shoes!

Gender Reveal parties are definitely a pretty common thing–so fun!!

25 Debbie @ Deb Runs March 17, 2013 at 10:15 am

Gender revel parties are pretty big here, too. I have a friend that bakes gorgeous cakes, and she’s often asked to make gender revel cakes. The outside will be gender neutral baby theme, but when the cake is cut, it will be either a pink or blue cake, or the inside icing layer will be blue or pink (or have blueberry or raspberry filling). Such a cute idea!
