Be careful what you lie about…

by Elizabeth on July 25, 2013

Thank you for your kind comments yesterday! It was a much better day for several reasons :-)

First of all, things like this just make me happy! Is this not the coolest save the date you’ve ever seen? After posting the picture on Instagram, I received a comment suggesting we have a wedding day race and people can wear their numbers which I thought was an awesome idea! I immediately texted my cousin (she and her fiancé both ran for NC State) to let her know the new plans. Runnning > getting ready on your wedding day. He will [probably] still say “I do” even if your hair is in a sweaty pony tail.

Noah spent the day swimming with his cousins at the splash pad. When I picked him up from my mother in law’s, not only did I get my kid back but she sent us home with dinner (green chile and chicken stew)! I honestly don’t mind cooking but dishes are THE WORST so I got a day off!

Joe texted me before he left work saying they had their monthly office birthday celebration and he was bringing me home the leftover cupcakes. Kind of a funny story? in his interview a few months ago the CEO asked him how old he was. SInce I’m actually older by a few months, it’s become a habit for him to just say he’s as old as I am. So when the CEO asked he said 25. He came home that day and was stressed out (he is honest to a fault) because he “lied” to his CEO about his age. I told him I really didn’t think it was a big deal and that the guy would never even remember! He was nervous someone would ask him how old he is turning tomorrow but thankfully no one did ;-) Safe for another year!

My sister’s comment on this picture was? “Why is your husband bringing YOU cupcakes on HIS birthday week?” Maybe I will share one with him. Haha.

Have a great Thursday!

Questions:

1. Did you/will you run on your wedding day?

2. Any North Carolina people out there?

3. If I was to let you have a cupcake from the above picture which flavor would you choose? Please don’t say ginger lemon because that bad boy is already in the trash. Gross.

Ha I totally thought the same thing when I read it. They can’t do that! Can’t ask how old you are or the year you graduated.
I really wanted to go for a run on my wedding day however I was sooo busy getting ready I didn’t have the time.

I’m completely in love with that save the date – so cute! I’m not married but do hope to run on my wedding day – calm my nerves, refresh, etc.

That soup looks fantastic! I’m with you – love to cook but hate doing the dishes.

Cupcake choice would definitely be pumpkin or chocolate, and if those were in my house ginger lemon would already be in the trash as well! :)

You know, I never thought about running on my wedding day (probably because I’m not getting married anytime soon), but it might be a good way to relax. Better than lying down for a massage and having an hour to worry about everything under the sun.

I just visited NC for the first time, and I have to say it’s a way more awesome state than I ever gave it credit for.

Pumpkin…pumpkin…pumpkin!!! 100%, all the time, pumpkin. Sprinkles has THE BEST pumpkin muffins, so I’d be all over it. Can you tell I’m slightly into pumpkin? I can’t wait until the fall when all the pumpkin flavor goodies come out of hibernation :)
Also, I WILL be using that Save-the-Date when I get married. I’ll also do race bibs to document my weeks of pregnancies. I will also name my future children (twins, a boy and a girl) Miles and Runner, respectively.

I’ve had friends get a run in the morning of their wedding and I think it’s genius. I’ll definitely be planning on that. Someday. haha

Ok, ok. I think I have it narrowed down to vanilla, black and white or red velvet. In fact, if they were mine, I would cut them into thirds and have some of each of those three. It’s hard to decide when it comes to delicious cupcakes!

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love that race bib save-the-date! I am hoping that I can go on a short run on the morning of my wedding. A couple of my bridesmaids run, and I know that would really help me relieve some stress. Your hubby’s cupcakes look delish! I think I’d probably go for the chocolate marshmallow. I love marshmallows, especially in the summer, when it’s prime smores time.

That’s sweet of your Cousin to make you Dinner. Isn’t it the best when that happens. Sometimes my Mom does it for me and it’s just awesome.
And I love those save the date invitations. So creative, I totally would never think of something like that.
I’d go with pumpkin all the way….even if it is July.

First- that save the date is SO FREAKING CUTE!!!

I WANTED to run on my wedding day- but it was sprinkling in the morning, and I was worried about my hair getting wet and frizzy before my hairstylist got there. I wish I had, it would have calmed so many nerves!

I would choose red velvet! And chocolate is a close second! I’m jealous- I LOVE Sprinkles cupcakes!!! I used to get them all the time when I lived in DC, but they don’t have Sprinkles here :(

I’d say that your husband is a very smart man for getting you cupcakes on his birthday :)

I got a 7 mile run on my wedding day– the first 3 with my dad and the last 4 on my own! It was a great way to spend time with him and reflect before my “big day”!:)

That save the date is such a great idea and so unique, I love it! I am from NC and getting married in Raleigh in March of next year. Not sure I’ll be running on my wedding day…maybe I’ll squeeze in an early morning run.

I’ve never had Sprinkles cupcakes and have been dying to try them. One day I will get to one! I would go for the Black and White cupcake

I can’t remember if I ran…almost 9 yrs ago, but I think yes!!??
I’ll have the vanilla, please.

Vanilla or Chocolate please! The one with the most frosting preferably! I just was in NC does that count? And yay to running on my wedding day and yours! :-)

That is the cutest, most unique save the date! Love it!! And that chicken stesw looks delish too. I’ve been loving green chilies recently.

Omg, as I was stalking the cupcake flavors in the box, I thought, “lemon ginger – nasty!” Glad to know you’ve already disposed of it. Yuck! I’d probably choose chocolate marshmallow or plain old chocolate…even better if it’s dark! What was your fave?!

The chocolate ones taste dark to me! I think I like the vanilla cupcake with the milk chocolate frosting. If I was at the store I definitely would have chosen salted caramel :-)

Wow, that soup looks amazing! I use a lot of green chiles living in southwest CO but haven’t come up with a stew that looks that good, is there any chance you can post the recipe or a link?

AND my dream is to have save the date race numbers—SMALL WORLD.

Thst Save the Date is amazing! I would love something like that. If only my boyfriend was more into running. :( I must find some way of sneaking in a few running references next year though.
I definitely plan on heading out for a pre-wedding run on the morning itself!
