CAKE BALL GIVEAWAY!!!

by Elizabeth on March 25, 2013

I hope you had a great weekend! It’s Monday, so you all know what that means :-) Joe is continuing his series this afternoon, be sure not to miss it! Today he is talking about our experience going through inpatient hospitalization at ERC. On a lighter note, if you were away this weekend, you may have missed:

Surprise Party!

Our perfect family photo

I know the real reason you’re here is because of the title? So it’s time for the cake ball giveaway! Of course we have all the regular flavors such as chocolate, birthday cake, red velvet, an chocolate chip, but on Friday I made a few new exciting flavors! Joe and I tried them all and gave them a score of 1 through 10 so the winner can take that what it’s worth ;-)

S’mores- yellow cake with graham cracker bits, chocolate chips, and marshmallow fluff.

Scores- Mine: 8, Joe: 9

Peanut Butter Banana- yellow cake with *shocker* peanut butter and banana

Mine: 9 Joe: 7

Caramel Sea Salt- Yellow cake with caramel extract and sea salt bits? It was bad. Something about the flavor ratio was way off!

Mine: 3, Joe: 3?

Cinnamon roll- Yellow cake with cream cheese frosting and cinnamon.

Mine: 7, Joe 8

Two lucky winners will win a dozen cake balls, flavor of their choice! To enter:

1. Leave a comment suggesting a new flavor I should make!!!

2. Tweet: @elsauvageau Cake Ball Giveaway on My Neon Running Shoes Blog! Tell me you did!

3. Share this link on Facebook and tell me you did!

4. Become a new follower on Instagram.

The giveaway ends Thursday at midnight and the winner will be announced Friday morning!!! GOOD LUCK!

I haven’t heard from the winner of the running coach giveaway, so tomorrow a new winner will be chosen if I haven’t heard from them in the morning!

Ooooh I would love to win this especially since my birthday (and my almost 2 year old) is next week. You should try ghiradelli brownie cake balls. There are no words. Cover them in white chocolate and thank me later!

Pumpkin or spice cake! I know those are more fall/winter flavors and now it is spring…..but here in Ohio we got snow last night (blah) so I guess I’m not into the spring mindset yet? Have a great Monday!

Ohhh, pumpkin spice would be so great in the fall!

Reading your blog has inspired me to make my own cake balls! I gave it a whirl a couple of weeks ago on spring break and they were far too delicious to keep in a household of just 2 :) I signed up to bring cake balls for Easter this Sunday, and I think I’m totally gonna snag this s’mores recipe!! Thanks for posting such delicious looking things!!

Hmmmmm maybe a peanut butter caramel chocolate one. Trader Joes has these delicious peanut butter caramels coated in chocolate, so I think the flavor could be great!

You should try to make OREO cake balls. I’m not the best baker/cook so I’m not sure how exactly to make them, but maybe Google knows?

I’ve made some FAB Oreo balls!

1 package of oreos
1 brick of cream cheese
Vanilla or chocolate almond bark

Blend Oreos and cream cheese in food processor until it gets to be cookie dough consistency. Roll into balls and freeze for a few hours. Then dip frozen oreo balls in melted almond bark. Keep in the fridge. Mmmmmm…

Kentucky Bourbon cake ball! I’m sure this would be a big hit, and also something that most haven’t had. Bourbon cake with pecans and chocolate chips, cream cheese frosting, drizzled in caramel.

While I am not a huge fan of lemon, maybe a lemon cake with cream cheese covered in white chocolate? With Easter right around the corner the yellow and while will remind everyone of little chicks! A few pastel sprinkles will also add to the Easter theme.
