I will never again torture myself the way I did today. I accidentally planned my long run route to where I had to run by Shipley’s Donuts three times. What in the world was I thinking? The smell around that store in the morning has to be what it smells like in heaven. I’m convinced.
I wish I had found compression socks earlier. I finished 15.2 miles and 10 minutes after I ran my legs felt fine. I don’t know if it was just in my head or what but normally my legs will ache the rest of the day. Nothing… I felt like I didn’t even run yesterday. Breakfast afterwards was a protein smoothie.

For day 9 of the 14 day challenge I let Joe have the morning off of parenting and participate in a sporting clays tournament. He shot 75/100 which is awesome!!! I’d be lucky to hit one and even luckier to not shoot myself in the foot. Noah and I had the morning to ourselves so we went to the park.

We followed it up with a lunch stop at my favorite healthy restaurant. I have to say McDonalds is on their A game in regards to holidays… Valentine’s decorations and free filet of fish bites (Ash Wednesday is this week). I figured you would want to see a picture from last Ash Wednesday when Noah gave up crying for Lent.

We couldn’t leave without playing for an hour or so.

Later that afternoon my parents came over to hang out with us for a while!

And Joe grilled us cheeseburgers…

And my AMAZING mom brought me more cake balls! There are red velvet, chocolate, white, italian cream, and chocolate chip. Mother, from the bottom of my heart thank you for all of the wonderful things you do for us.

Today will be a rest/family day! See you tomorrow

I used to nanny for three boys, and I would always take them to McDonalds to play in the Play Place after school. It kept them entertained for hours!
I’ll take 6 chocolate chip cake balls, please
.

What a sweet mom you have! The Italian Cream sounds divine. I recently had a veggie burger with BBQ and onion rings on it, and THAT was killer. Pretty sure I could eat that every day! Enjoy your rest/family time day.

I think I need to have your mom instead. Mine doesn’t make me amazing things like that. I don’t know if I could resist the smell of donuts on a run… that takes some serious willpower.

I’m a vegetarian, but I think my favorite toppings for a veggie burger is avocado/guacamole. But when there’s good lettuce, tomatoes, red onion around, I LOVE to top my burger with that. Getting traditional. Five guys makes a super fantastic (but unhealthy) veggie sandwich which is literally everything you can get on a burger (including cheese if you wish) without the patty. YUM! I think the chocolate chip or red velvet cake ball would be my cake ball of choice

Picking out a favorite cake ball would be like picking out a favorite finger… need them all! I have to say that I’m most curious about the Italian cream, though – can’t say I’ve ever come across those before!

I had a cheeseburger with asian dressing, cabbage and peanut butter on it when I was in Indianapolis. It sounds odd but it was really good! I love chocolate so I would have to pick the chocolate cake ball! Is Italian cream like white cake?

Yes it’s white cake! It has a coconut flavor and cream cheese frosting!
Cake ball fav flavor, that’s easy, all of them! I neeeeed to find a place around here that has these or just convince my hubby to move to TX. What kind of milkshake was that from Mickey D’s?? Shamrock shake?? I am obsessed with them
Just plain vanilla! What are the shamrock shakes like?
Mint flavored, they only have them around St. Patrick’s Day because they are green.
I feel the same way about compression socks!! If I didn’t read running blogs – I would have NEVER come across them. they help sooo much!

I love compression socks, too! They are definitely a lifesafer on long runs and/or anytime my calves/shins are feeling off.
The cake balls look divine. What a great momma you have! I’d go for the chocolate of course!
