23 Weeks: Growth Spurt

by Elizabeth on January 30, 2014

Baby Sauvageau: 23 Weeks. Photo from instagram.

Baby?s size? Last week it was a papaya and this week it’s a large mango. I don’t know about you but after following this I need a Hawaiian vacation, a lei, and some pineapple.

Maternity clothes? Yes! Always? except for that one time and I paid for it

Stretch marks? None yet!

Sleep: Pretty terrible honestly. I haven’t been running before Joe leaves in the morning simply because it takes me quite a while to settle down and actually fall asleep. I don’t know if that’s helping or hurting the sleep situation.

Best moment this week: Waking up yesterday morning and noticing a huge baby growth spurt! There will be a big difference in this week’s and next week’s pictures (I usually take them on Friday.)

Miss anything? Not that I can think of really!

Movement: Yes, I love that it’s visible from the outside! Sometimes I’m sure everyone around me can see it…

Food Cravings: I had another great week getting in lots of healthy foods (please ignore the cookie dough cupcakes in the previous post ;) ) My staples have still been lots of fruits, giant green salads with different types of lettuce, nuts (pistachios, pumpkin seeds, almonds, cashews), cheeses (usually bleu or goat), and sometimes red meat as well. Meat definitely isn’t something I’ve been wanting a ton of and usually I am a meat eater. I’ve also been loving my trail mixes and dark chocolate almonds.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: Girl!!!

Labor Signs: None!

Symptoms: Lower back pain lives on. As far as easing it goes I’ve been using heat and Tylenol. I also get rib pain when I sit for too long but that’s easily reversible.

Belly Button ? in or out?  In, and getting flatter haha!

Wedding Rings ? on or off? On!

Happy or Moody? I’m just going to be honest and say both…

Looking Forward To: My 24 week appointment next week! Is it bad I look forward to drinking the glucose juice?

Have a wonderful Thursday!

1. Have you ever been on a tropical vacation? Where’d you go?

2. Moms: what’d you think of the glucose testing?

Looking great girlfriend! So glad to hear everything is going so well too.

We went to Cancun for our honeymoon – best trip ever!

As for the glucose drink, I didn’t think it was as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Just tastes like a super sugary orange soda to me!

You’re the cutest pregnant lady! Hopefully your sleep troubles are short lived. How’s Noah liking the bump?! I’ve only been to St. Thomas for my sister-in-law’s wedding, and we went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. I’d happily go back, or anywhere else for that matter!

He honestly doesn’t notice it. I try to get him to feel her move but he’s much too busy to stop for half a second ;-)

I’m going to Mexico for a destination wedding in 2 months and I’m really looking forward to getting out of this cold! We went to Costa Rica 1.5 years ago for our honeymoon and I loved it, definitely want to go back!

I agree that I didn’t think that the glucose drink was that bad. . . it’s like a sugar drink – whats wrong with that? ;)

I didn’t think the glucose test was as bad as people made it sound, but definitely not something I want to do every day.

I have never been on a tropical vacation, but I would love to go to Hawaii! It is just somewhere that I have always wanted to visit :) I didn’t think that the drink for the glucose test was that bad, but I hated how it made me feel. I was super sick to my stomach after drinking it, and it was just too much sugar for me ha.

Honestly, the drink wasn’t that bad to me! I guess I had myself set up for something just awful because of what everyone was warning me, so it ended up not being that traumatic!:)

oh my goodness so adorable. I have baby fever again already. The glucose testing wasn’t bad the first time but with both of my kids I had to take the 3 hour long one too. That was miserable.

I would love to go to Hawaii – I’ve never been!

You look great! I love the shirt you’re wearing in the baby bump selfie – what brand is it? Is it a maternity shirt?
