20 Weeks: Taking it all in.

by Elizabeth on January 9, 2014

It’s that time of the week again! You get to spend the next ten minutes reading about weird/crazy/gross things going on in pregnancy!!! So… why are you still sitting there??? Get up, clap, shout, cheer, dance around, shake yo groove thang… this is BIG time stuff people!

I apologize for that last sentence, it’s not even 6 am yet and my brain isn’t thinking rationally.

Baby Sauvageau: 20 Weeks!!! Halfway home… literally.

Baby’s size? Banana (the length of)

Maternity clothes? Absolutely. I should probably invest in some different ones since my current maternity workout shirt says, “Aggie Quarterback in Training” on the stomach from when I was pregnant with Noah. Don’t worry baby girl, I don’t expect you to be A&M’s quarterback. Unless you just want to. As a parent I’ll support you.

Stretch marks? Nope. I did find some lovely varicose veins on my legs this weekend. #worthit

Sleep: Yeesh. The song that comes to mind is Katie Perry’s “Hot N Cold.” Because literally, as soon as I find something that works, it doesn’t any more. I did invest in a body pillow (thanks Beth!) I’m just not too sure how to use it to make myself comfortable…

Best moment this week: My 20 week appointment yesterday! Everything looked great, she’s measuring big, and I feel good :-) Also starting to talk about a baby shower with my sister! Photo from instagram.

Miss anything? Good sleep. Strike that. Any sleep.

Movement: YES! Every ultra sound I have the tech comments how she won’t stay still for any length of time. Must run in the family (ahem, Noah!!!) :-)

Food Cravings: ALL THE FOOD!!! Everyone is going crazy with their New Year’s diets/juice cleanse/detox and you can find us eating wings. 20 wings for $9.99 x2 to be exact. Let’s just say we’ve had leftovers for a few days now… Mine are on the left, Joe’s are on the right. I also made some incredible funfetti blondies on Tuesday night!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: A sweet little girl to balance out the fam ;-)

Labor Signs: None!

Symptoms: Getting/staying full much more quickly.

Belly Button – in or out?  In, and getting flatter haha!

Wedding Rings – on or off? On!

Happy or Moody? I was less snarky this week, huh babe? Don’t answer that.

Looking Forward To: Enjoying this pregnancy! It’s easy to get caught up in the discomfort but the truth is, I wanted this little baby SO MUCH! I want to fully take in the days, movements, sleepless nights, and all that being pregnant comes with. It doesn’t last long.

(Me and my sister-in-law (due in March!) taken before Christmas. We’re both having girls!)

Love the pic of the pregnant sisters, that’s awesome. My SIL is due in April and I’m due in a week and a half! Sleepless nights? Yup, totally. A craving I’ve had the past 2 days for some odd reason has been McDonald’s or DQ’s soft serve cone. It’s freezing here, but I’ve been dying to get one!

Aw, how sweet that you and the SIL will have cousins to close in age! That’s awesome. You’re absolutely glowing, and I’m so glad you’re having a sweet baby girl to even out the score.

You’re the cutest pregnant lady :) I love how positive you’re still being. I always hear women complaining about being pregnant or how much they hate being pregnant and it always breaks my heart a little bit. I can’t relate, having never been there, but I’m sure it’s hard and uncomfortable. But it’s also such a miracle and a blessing and something a lot of women who want it so badly will never be able to experience. Your attitude is perfect!

Not really craving anything except for cold glasses of orange juice (no pulp)…and water! Lol. I have about 3 weeks to go with this pregnancy, so of course, there’s not much room for food – I just make sure to eat a little every few hours.

Had to laugh at your wings craving though – I’m having a boy and for like 2 months straight that was one of my TOP cravings! Enjoy! I’m doing my best to enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy, myself. :)

Well now, thanks to that blondie picture I’m craving those! Ha :) Recipe?? Totally feel you on the getting full faster.. somehow I’ve gained 18 pounds and yet I feel like I don’t eat nearly as much as I used to! Crazy. Also have those varicose veins like crazy! I feel like a museum exhibit. So cool you have a sister in law who’s pregnant too. That must be fun. Congrats on your halfway point! :)

I am so excited for you!! I am pregnant too and I have been craving a lot of breads and bubble gum (random I know ha!). When it comes to sleep I just try to position myself in a way that is comfortable for me and my baby girl. She doesn’t like being squished at all, so I find myself readjusting a lot! The most exciting part of January is probably going to be my weekly appointments to the doctor to see how my baby girl is developing! So exciting that I am due in 5 weeks :)

Not random at all! I have a giant bag of bubble gum (the gum balls, not the wrapped kind) in my pantry! It annoys my husband to no end because I have to chew at least 10 at a time and he says I look like a cow… Good luck with your delivery! I can’t wait to read about it!
