Thursday Thoughts and a little bit of throwback.

by Elizabeth on December 19, 2013

1. It’s not even 6:30 AM and I’ve managed to get in a run, do laundry, make lunches, shower, and am here now typing. If only my Christmas to-do list was also getting done? I still have many presents to buy, wrap, and things to bake!

2. At my Theresians meeting last night we had a cookie swap that was a huge success! I ended up making snickerdoodle sandwiches with Trader Joe’s cookie butter in the middle. YUM!

Cookie snickerdoodle

3. I realize I’m a mom and completely 1000% biased, but I hope our little girl is a good natured and easy as Noah was! And even if she’s not, we will love her just the same!384011 10101423521887604 1491525192 n

4. It’s so much fun (now that I’ve had the blog over a year) to look back and see what I was doing exactly a year ago on this day! And to see how much Noah has changed!

5. Thanks again for all the potty training tips yesterday! We haven’t made much progress but I figure learning a whole new way of doing something in life take me (at 26 years old) a long time so I can’t really expect a two year old to have it down in a week. I’m not sure which method would be easier on him either? the let’s go every twenty minutes method or the let’s just go and run around in wet underwear most of the day so you know what it feels like. He doesn’t seem to mind being wet so I guess the first one? We’ll figure it out eventually!

6. Tomorrow we’re having a Christmas get together with the girls I ran with in high school and their families! PJ’s + Italian food + good friends is pretty much an unbeatable combination.

7. Holy wow is my stomach growing! I really need to be better at taking bump pictures because the last time I took one was 15 weeks! I think it would help if I actually put on clothes and makeup sometimes but we all know that’s not going to happen so you might have to live with the real me just like poor Joe does ;-)

What’s your favorite Christmas cookie to make?

Give me one of your Thursday thoughts!

Where’s your ideal place to spend Christmas?

My mom has always made Mexican wedding cookies around the holiday. They’re little ball cookies, dipped in powdered sugar. Lots of people make different versions. I love them! And rum cakes. That’s my favorite.

So did my mom, but I’ve never heard anyone else call them that! :-)

I’m sorry, but I saw that picture of the snickerdoodle sandwich and couldn’t think of anything else? so my thought on this Thursday morning is that I seriously need to bake a batch of snickerdoodles. They may just be my favourite cookie, and I still haven’t made any this year!

Oh yum – those cookies look crazy good. :) I love blogging for the same reason that I can look back and see how different Christmas was last year vs this year!

Noah is adorable! And those cookies look positively scrumptious.
That idea for an adult PJ party is absolutely inspired. I kind of want to bring it back.

Those cookies look amazing! I made red velvet cake balls last night for a cookie exchange, but they are not pretty. I might make these as well so I have something that looks good to take!

I need to get cracking on my to-do list but after work/workout all I wanna do is park my booty on the couch with my heated blanket-so that’s exactly what I do.

those cookies, to die for.

Those cookies look amazing! I recently made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for a cookie exchange (I put the recipe on my blog not too long ago if anyone is into pumpkin & chocolate like I am!).

Last Christmas my son was about 2 months… so looking back at the handprint ornaments we made last year made me so sad! He’s so big! Those are super cute pics of Noah! :)

Happy Thursday!

Crazy how fast they grow. Speaking of growing, definitely wanna see a bump pic! :) Although I totally understand. I have to take my picture on the (hopefully) one day that week I actually put on makeup.. which is usually why it takes me so long to get them up! Can’t believe you did all that by 6:30 am! I cannot even IMAGINE. You go girl! Also, I know you weren’t happy about it, but thought you’d like to know I think Noah’s buzz cut is SO CUTE! Meant to say that on your last post.

The picture of Noah in the stocking is too cute! :) We have Christmas at my moms every year and everyone comes over! It’s always a good time. Recently, I made some Oreo Christmas bark and it’s to die for.

I love making this amazing almond flavored sugar cookie with almond glaze. I don’t know what they’re called so we always call them “Terri Cookies” since my friend Terri gave me the recipe!
