Weekend and birthday recap!

by Elizabeth on December 2, 2013

I’m going to be honest, the beginning of December isn’t quite as exciting for me as it is for most people since my birthday falls on the last day of November. Did anyone else get super sad the day after their birthday as a kid knowing you had to wait a whole year for the next one or was that just me?
I hope your Monday is off to a great start so far! We had such an awesome break. I’m sad Joe goes back to work today but luckily Christmas is just a few short weeks away!
When I woke up Saturday morning Joe told me that I had a prenatal massage at 11 and to get ready! It was an awesome way to start the day. We also decided it was time for a bigger car so spent a lot of the day working on that! Joe is picking it up this afternoon.
For dinner I knew I wanted garlic Parmesan boneless buffalo wings so we invited my parents and sisters to meet us at BWW.

A&M was also playing Mizzou so it worked out perfectly for the boys to watch football.

My sister made me a sticky bun bread pudding. Yesterday I decided it was missing something so I dumped a jar of caramel on top. Because you know, 4 cups of sugar is never enough for anyone.

Love him.

We had such a blast just hanging out and catching up! The fact that they gave me really cool gifts like a food processor, scrapbooking material, and Christmas candles didn’t hurt either! I can’t wait to try out the food processor!
I hope you have a fabulous Monday!

I love my food processor! I use it for making apple butter, along with grounding oats for oat flour :) I don’t know of any Cyber Monday deals, but am on the hunt for some!

Happy belated birthday! :-)

I love my Cuisinart and I’ve had it for years. You’ll really enjoy yours since you love cooking so much, too.

I don’t use my food processor that often. I use it to shred carrots when making carrot cake. A lot easier and faster than shredding them by hand!

We have a food processor, but I’ve never used it, whoops haha. I’ve read it’s good for grounding oats and nuts though. Post recipes of how you use it and motivate me! My birthday is exactly 2 weeks after Christmas, and I usually request Italian food. I’ll be checking Amazon constantly today for good Cyber Monday deals. We finished all of our holiday shopping this weekend for our families which is a relief! My husband and I decided not to buy each other anything this year and buy things we wanted on the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals instead. We’ve gotten a lot for so little, and I’m excited to get things over the next few weeks in the mail, although I’m skeptical about the clothes I purchased as I’ve never ordered them online before! Glad your birthday was fun!

I love my food processor! Sounds like you had an awesome celebration! I’m also sad that my husband is going back to school today. We had so much fun when he was home!
Sounds gross but I love sauerkraut and pork chops for my birthday! Great German meal! :)
J. Crew and Banana Republic have 40% off!

The thing that I make the most in my food processor is cauliflower “rice.” I love it! I also make a lot of bean burgers using it.

a] you are freaking gorgeous.

b] this is unbelievably delicious, and utilizes a food processor in the best way possible: http://www.inthepinkandgreen.com/2013/02/a-recipe-for-love-caramelized-bacon.html. i’m not saying it’s healthy by any means… ;-p

Sounds like a great birthday! We have a food processor, but rarely use it so I definitely can’t help you there! LOL

I use my food processor for a lot of things. But my favorite by far is hummus! If you need a good and easy recipe, just let me know. I have a great one that is adaptable to many flavor profiles!!!

Food processors are great! We use ours for chopping up lots if things. You can make salsa or puree veggies and fruits for baby food. I made a smoothie with it too. We even use it to chop up meat into tiny bite size pieces for burritos or tacos. :-)
