The BEST morning and a silent night.

by Elizabeth on September 20, 2013

I don’t know how yesterday could have started off any better. Joe didn’t have to leave for work until 8:30 so we got to have breakfast together which NEVER happens on weekdays! I made an omelette with spinach, bell peppers, goat cheese, jalepenos, and onions (I’ve been loving onions lately and I think Joe is plotting to murder me in my sleep. That’s how much he hates them.)

My mom sent me this text a little later and it may have been the highlight of my day.

Of course I had to google it and make sure her info was legit. Sure enough… How about we just fast forward to May?

Article 2425006 1BE9209E000005DC 973 634x305

I picked up this at the store. I needed something to hold me over until May and chocolate caramel frosting sounded like just the thing. Where’s my spoon?

I’m hoping it’s just a phase (please don’t laugh and tell me one that lasts 18 years), but we are having a HARD time in the discipline area. I’m trying my best to discipline from a place of love but man, it’s not easy!

Wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world though. I feel blessed to have him :-) And I also feel blessed to have a husband who will take him out of the house so I can have some quiet time in the evening. And no, I don’t feel guilty!

Have an awesome Friday! We have a packed weekend starting with a trip to College Station to be with my sister when she gets her Aggie ring! See y’all soon :-)

Questions:

1. What’s your favorite breakfast?

2. What time do you/your spouse leave for work?

3. When’s your birthday?

4. Parents, what was the hardest stage you went through with children?

My birthday is in May so those M&Ms are awesome! I can’t wait to try them :) When I have time, I like cheesy eggs with salsa, turkey bacon, and a bagel!

My fave breakfast is pancakes or French toast, which I usually make on the weekends.
My birthday’s in January, but I don’t need an excuse to eat birthday cake M&M’s!

Ok I have to ask. What does getting an Aggie ring mean?? I’ve seen it a little on Facebook from friends who went to A&M but my college didn’t do anything like that.
Favorite breakfast: Kneaders French Toast.
Birthday: January 25.

The kids having time alone with Dad is just as important as Mom getting time to herself, so whenever I send the kids out on an adventure with Dad (aka Mom is going insane) I just chalk it up to bonding time.

We have lots of birthday’s in may in our family, so we will get to use those a lot! Wahoo!

Ohhh my! Birthday cake M&Ms?! I pretty much love birthday cake everything, so I hope they live up to my expectations.

Good luck with the discipline thing. Every age and phase there is something new, right? Or so I’m learning… Praying for you!

My favourite breakfast is pretty much anything that’s has some sweetness to it. I still have no idea how people do the whole savoury breakfast thing. I -might- be able to pull it off, but you better believe I’d be looking for dessert right after ;)

That’s great you guys got to have breakfast together. My wife leaves the house at 6am, so I usually get up with her at 5am to spend an hour with her (kind of) and then I go back to sleep until 8:30 or so.

Living in Canada is a bit of a let down. You guys have so much cool product/food/misc stuff that just doesn’t make it across the border!! I lived in the States for 4 years while I finished my degree and it was like heaven, so many choices, food seemed cheaper except bananas for some odd reason; ah reminiscing … what I wouldn’t do to try some birthday cake M & Ms!!!

OMG, frosting. Where’s my spoon?

Squish is almost two, and although his favorite word is “no” and he destroys everything he touches, I would take the terrible twos a million times before I go back to the newborn days. Months 0-3 just about killed me. Sure, he was a cute, cuddly little meatloaf and I tried so hard to appreciate those moments. But I am so glad I don’t have to deal with sleepless nights, diaper explosions, and the gallons of spit-up on my last clean pair of pants ever again with him.

You’ll have a lot of ups and downs with discipline, and each age has it’s own challenges. I think the most important thing is consistency along the way.

I can’t wait to try birthday cake M&M’s! You just reminded me that I bought Almond Joy flavored icing a few weeks ago and need to make some cupcakes to try it out!

Oh man, that omelette. Got me hungry… My favorite breakfast, I’m not sure. I like a lot of breakfast foods and it really does depend on my mood. Sometimes I like eggs (drippy yolk mmmm) or omelette, like yours. Sometimes I like waffles or pancakes. Sometimes yogurt. Haha, I’m so indecisive. But then again, breakfast is my favorite kind of food so that’s probably why I like so many different ones.

My birthday is in January which sucks cause it’s freezingg and it’s so close to Christmas and NYE that it’s not usually very festive. Meh. But yeah, I’m curious how those M&Ms will taste.. Haha, it’s interesting that they already released this even though it’s not coming out for a whiiiile.

I wonder what those M&Ms will taste like, and if they’ll live up to the birthday cake hype! My favorite breakfast these days is two scrambled eggs with crushed hot peppers on top.
