Personal shoppers and loaded baked potato dip

by Elizabeth on August 7, 2013

It’s Wednesday already! This week is flying by! I start my volunteer training today and I am really excited to get involved. In addition to the buffalo chicken dip I made for the first time Saturday, I also tried this Loaded Baked Potato Dip! It was also a hit so I wanted to share the recipe with you.

It was so easy! I used:

  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1/4 cup Franks hot sauce

I left everything out to soften a bit and then chopped up the bacon and stirred it all together. I topped it with chives and some remaining bacon for garnish and let it refrigerate for 3 hours before serving. The potato chips were chosen for obvious reasons but you could serve it with anything! Everyone seemed to enjoy it!

I used full fat products but you could definitely use light versions of the ingredients for a low fat dip.

I decided my mom missed her true calling in life as a personal shopper. She buys Noah all of his clothes and if this isn’t the cutest outfit I’ve ever seen, I don’t know what is.

He’s showing you the octopus. Mom, feel free to buy me clothes too since I’m still rocking the college sweatshirts and running shorts. Joe will appreciate you!

Short and sweet today! Have a great day!

1. Have you ever volunteered anywhere? How was it?

2. Where do you shop for clothes??

I volunteer at church all the time. Plus I’m in an all volunteer symphony. Plus helping out frequently at my kids schools.

I love Ann Taylor Loft for clothes. They have such classy yet still trendy stuff. Or Boden, they’re a UK store but they have an online store for the US and their stuff is gorgeous.

I used to volunteer for a local school’s Destination Imagination program and it was amazing. I’m definitely going to have to get back involved with the program now that I’m in a new place.

And I, too, love Ann Taylor Loft! They just put a new one in down the street from me, right next to the Dick’s sporting goods. I know where all my money is going for the rest of the summer…

And I love Noah’s outfit! The nautical/sea creature theme is always a favorite of mine.

I am a cheap poor student… I rarely treat myself to new clothes! When i do, lets be honest, it is usually a new pair of running shorts/new running shoes/new running tank/fancy-shmancy dri-fit sports bra/compression socks…. that sort of thing :) And I am all about online purchases– Zappos with free shipping??!?! yes please!!

I wish I had more time to volunteer!! I worked at a Young Life camp for the month (christian organization with camps all throughout the country) and it was a month long volunteer position. It was LIFE CHANGING. I love love that organization and what they stand for and how we reach kids! Fantastic!

Have a great week!

I need a personal shopper- I always dream of having somebody bring racks of clothes to my house, all chosen to look amazing on me. Ahh, that would be the life. But, since I’m not a rich celebrity (or rich… or a celebrity…), I do my shopping at The Gap outlet, Ann Taylor Loft outlet, Splendid (new obsession), and little boutiques!

What a cutie pie that Noah is! My stepmom and MIL are Hunter’s personal shoppers too. I’m not complaining! ;) Most of my clothes are from Old Navy, Target, and LOFT.

Good luck with your training, girl! I’ve been volunteering in the mental health unit of a hospital for a couple years now, and while it’s definitely trying at times, it really feels great to be able to help out. And is your mom taking clients? Because as much as I love looking good, I hate the process of having to find clothes that get me there ;)

I volunteered on and off during college. I’ve also volunteered with Global Brigades this past winter in Honduras to provide medical and dental care in rural areas. It was an amazing experience!

I am cheap, but I like nice clothes, so I look for deals and go to stores like Nordstrom Rack (love!) and TJ Maxx.

I sometimes volunteer at a nature center and I love it. I like being anywhere that lets me teach and be around the community! I shop for clothes in Kohl’s or JcPenney. Big spender!

I have volunteered before, mainly for church events, food drives and do road races count. Getting up at 4am to help triathlons get ready for their event was so much fun. I was a body marker and got to mark on all the triathletes!! It was awesome ;)
I dont have one particular store I shop, but both my husband and I love JCrew. We usually take up the sales!!

He is such a sweetie! Two or three times a year they set up a huge warehouse full of second- hand clothing for babies and kids. They also have toys, strollers etc. I stock up for my son then! As for me, I am a J.Crew Factory addict!

When I clicked over to your blog and saw the picture at the top, somehow I read “Loaded Baked Potato Chip” instead of “dip.” It sounded pretty good hahaha.

I could use a personal shopper for my work attire- I’m a lost cause. On the other hand I would make a fabulous personal shopper for anyone looking for fitness clothing or gear :)

I love volunteering, so rewarding. I try and do it a few times a year at different things. Sometimes races and sometimes local charities and such.

My husband is gonna flip over that dip! I feel ya on the college sweats and t’s and running shorts. Unfortunately, summer is over for me (I’m a teacher), but you better believe every single day, other than church on Sundays, I was rocking my shorts and college T’s…totally nothing better. On another note, your mom is welcome to be my personal shopper during the school year when my summer attire is not appropriate. ;-)
