A marriage first

by Elizabeth on April 24, 2013

Yesterday I got to start the day with an awesome 7 mile run with my two running buddies, Rebecca and Kathy! I absolutely love running when I have partners. When I walked in the door Joe said, “I want to run with you soon.” Turns out my attempts to brainwash him in his sleep have been working ;-)

Lunch was pretty awesome yesterday. I had a philly cheesesteak flatbread with an unpictured apple.

Followed up with a few of these.

A good friend of mine just had a baby, so you know what that means?

Scrapbooking was on my evening agenda.

For the first time in our marriage last night, I made tacos. I’ll just be honest with you? they were awesome. I don’t remember the last time I had tacos or why Joe would stay married to someone who didn’t make them for him on a regular basis. From this day forward, babe.

My night ended with some cinnamon coffee cake that will probably also become breakfast this morning? Pictures to follow.

1. Do you have running partners? Does your husband/significant other run/workout with you?

2. What’s your favorite Mexican food?

3. Annnnnnddd just because I am nosy and totally unrelated? anyone have a fun vacation planned coming up??

I just met a new friend last weekend that I think will become a new running partner! I don’t have one in the area so it is really exciting for me. :) My boyfriend ran cross country in high school but doesn’t run much anymore…when we do run together, I have to take three steps for every two of his (he is 7 inches taller than me and I have short legs) so it really pushes me to be faster!

Favorite Mexican food: anything with lots of guac! Probably quesadillas. :)

I run with a group of friends on Thursday mornings and then do a group trail run on Friday mornings.

I just want the chips, salsa, queso, and guac. I like all the other stuff, but when I crave Mexican- I’m typically just craving the chips and a margarita.

12 days until we leave for Mexico for our honeymoon! So so ready!

3 Cori @ olivetorun April 24, 2013 at 6:40 am

Ben and I do run together on the weekends or when we are on vacation but since I’m just coming back from an injury that little speedy punk is faster than me and I don’t like to hold him back :)
Fun vacations? Boston for Memorial Day weekend! I got it as a gift for Ben for Christmas- he loves baseball so that is what we’ll be doing ;)

Yumm I could go for some cinnamon coffee cake right now. Running with boys- the best. Except they can be a little bit fast but it’s worth it. It’s like a perpetual game of tag ;)

My husband asked me to do C25K with him recently, so I’ve been trying to incorporate his runs with mine.

I LOVE Mexican and could eat it daily.

We’re taking the kids (13,11,9) to Disney in October to celebrate the 9 year old turning 10. So, we have a few months to wait…

Cancun in about 3 weeks! And it’s on my mind to workout with Leigh. This is a big step since I’ve never ran anywhere except to the kitchen after finishing my short lived college baseball career.

7 Elizabeth April 24, 2013 at 11:56 am

I forgot about your upcoming trip! I can’t wait to hear about it. You should go with that thought and run with her. Or move to Katy so I can :-)

8 Ashley @ OurPersonalRecords April 24, 2013 at 6:54 am

I have a couple running buddies. Some days I love running with other people, other days I prefer being alone. I love ALL Mexican food. I could eat it everyday.

I don’t have any good vacations planed!

Wow- are you ever crafty! Those scrapbook pages are gorgeous!
My husband is my only running, biking, and swimming buddy! We really should join a tri or run club but it?s so easy to just workout from home and together!
We eat Mexican at least twice a week. My husband is vegan so it’s easy to get in all the nutrients with Mexican food!

My man runs with me but I don’t really like it cause he’s real speedy and I’m well…not. So I always feel like a hassle. But he’s pacing me for a half marathon next weekend!

I could eat Mexican everyday. Nothing better than ooey cheesy goodness. Yumm :)

I love any and all Mexican (clearly)

No, I don’t really have a running buddy. I mostly run by myself. I do usually know at least one person racing in the same race, but that is about it. I did run my half marathon with two friends though! My hubby doesn’t enjoy running, however he occasionally runs in the same race, but nothing more than 5K

My boyfriend always SAYS he wants to run/ go to the gym with me, but i always go earlier in the day than he wants to go… we tried it a few times when we first started dating, but yeah I’m an early morning worker-outer and he prefers late morning/ early afternoon. so alas…

That reminds me, I need to make tacos sometime soon. Just in the last couple months I have started running with 2 other girls on our long runs on Sunday. I look forward to sunday every week now,I used to dread my long runs. They definitely give me motivation! My hubby does run, but on his own (25+miles weekly). We used to do all our training together, but since my son (16 months old) was born we run separately. I actually like running alone during the week, no one to complain and whine to. :) Favorite mexican food, hands down, chile rellenos.

Between you and Janae, I am totally craving Mexican food right now! I think tacos have to happen very, very soon.

I have a running buddy and I enjoy going for runs with her! It makes it a lot easier to stay motivated when you have someone else by your side. :-)

I recently started working out/running with a friend of mine from karate. She was getting ready to test for black belt and the test included a two mile run. She never really ran before, so I offered to run with her; now we’re workout partners!
My husband and I normally do seperate workouts, but the one thing we do together is spar! We get all geared up and go!!! :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE mexican food! My current fave is vegetarian tostadas with refried beans (no lard!!!), lettuce, tomato, cheese, black olives and hot sauce…..YUM!!!

My boyfriend doesnt run with me :( Maybe I can convince him one of these days. However I do remember getting in a few runs together back in college.

I love everything Mexican! I literally can’t get enough. Enchiladas are pretty high on that list of favorites.

I am leaving tomorrow for Nashville with a couple of girlfriends! We are running the Rock N Roll Half Marathon there on Saturday and getting in some much needed girl time and taking a long weekend. Wish me luck-I heard the hills are brutal!

I have S and M for running partners on Sundays! Saturday I usually go by myself! Favorite Mexican is refried beans and guacamole! Must be spicy guacamole of course! Um vacation… Does Dallas count? Or how about Houston for when we come see you soon? That’s kinda a vacation ESP if yummy desserts are involved! :-)

32 Debbie @ Deb Runs... April 24, 2013 at 6:38 pm

My husband runs, too, and we’ve run several marathons together. :-) I meet my running group every Saturday morning for our long run, and I have two different girlfriends that I meet on Sunday and Wednesday for runs!

I love fajitas, but I rarely make them. No exotic vacation plans, but we will go to our family beach house for a week or two.

I have an occasional running buddy, a regular running buddy, and neither is my husband. :) My regular running buddy is my dog and my occasional one is a friend who got me started on this madness! My fav Mexican food depends on who makes it. If it’s me or my mom, enchiladas for sure; a restaurant, usually a burrito; Costa Vida, Cafe Rio, or Bajio, it’s all about the salad. As for vacations… going to my old stomping grounds of sunny Cali next weekend. Woo-hoo!

I rarely run with a partner, preferring to run alone at my own pace. I do want to be a more social runner, though, so I might start joining those Meet Up groups to meet some runners in my neighborhood.

Mexican food is the best! I love veggie tacos and enchiladas. Or anything smothered in mole sauce. I could swim in mole sauce :P
